Explaining Fa Rectification to Everyday People

Many times in the past I was horrified by the persecution in China and I would ask people to help stop the suffering. Or in my heart I wanted the power in China to shift to a new leader. There were various mentalities that surfaced when trying to help Fa rectification. When looking back though it seemed I kept using my human heart to understand things and do things. When I went to officials in the past I wanted them to really help us. I thought governments could do something to stop the crisis in China. I used a human mind to debate, and a human heart to plead for help. My mind was not clear and my heart was dripping with sentimentality.

Master had made it so clear in "Essentials for Further Advances" and yet I could not see it. In "Digging Out The Roots" Master said, "They still have not fundamentally changed their human mindset, and they still perceive problems with the human mentality wherein human beings protect human beings." And in "Cultivation Practice is Not Political," Master said, "In my lectures I have repeatedly stressed that the form of human society--no matter what type of society or political situation--is predestined and determined by heaven. A cultivator does not need to mind the affairs of the human world, let alone get involved in political struggles. As to how society treats us, isn't it to test a cultivator's heart? We should not get involved in politics. Such is our Dafa's form of cultivation practice. We will not rely on any political powers at home or abroad."

I don't think the act of asking the government or any other organisation for help was wrong as it gives them an opportunity to position themselves. But my heart was not pure. I used sentimentality. And this not only interferes with my understanding of Fa, but also interferes with the rectification of Fa. Although I was not clear I could not just sit and do nothing. So as I continued to study and stand up for the Fa as best as I could. Master showed me my shortcomings and helped me to better understand Fa rectification.

I am taking a writing strategies course so I can do better Hong Fa work. In every assignment I write about Falun Dafa and the crisis in China, in one way or another. This has given me a lot of practice in over viewing and explaining in great detail the current situation in the world (regarding Fa rectification).

In my hometown there was a health show very recently. Although it was a health show, I wanted to use this opportunity to let people know about the evils attack on Fa. Half of the information table was dedicated to the persecution and the other half was dedicated to the practice of Falun Gong. On one side of the booth there was an information board for the crisis in China and the other side of the booth was an information board that showed Dafa practitioners around the world. Everyone I spoke to always asked me, "If this practice is so good, why is it being attacked so viciously?"

Now I explain the situation like this:

• Falun Dafa is an exercise and meditation practice that teaches Truthfullness-Compassion-Tolerance. In eight short years it has spread to over 40 countries around the globe, bring health and peace to millions.
• Unfortunately for the past __ months the President of China has been persecuting it. Many people have been beaten tortured and killed.

Why is the government doing that if....?

• It is not the government that is persecuting Falun Gong. Instead it is the President of China himself and a few followers. In fact many government and military officials practiced Falun Gong as well as judges. But since the crackdown they have had their positions taken away form them and they have been put in labour camps, mental hospitals and detention centres.

But why?

• If we look back over the past __ months of beatings, torture and killing it is quite easy to see that the President of China is very fare away from Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. If many people, as specially those close to him, are becoming better people and embracing Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, than they will see that he is not a good person. In trying to hide himself, he tried to destroy Falun Dafa.
• After exhausting millions of dollars and all his available means, the President of China is still failing to stop the practice of Falun Dafa.
• While the rest of the world is embracing Falun Dafa (give examples i.e. awards proclamations), the practitioners in China are using the teachings of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance to show the world that Falun Dafa is good.
• Without responding with anger, they keep calm hearts that provide them with more clarity. Rather than just going to Tiananmen Square and getting arrested they have been leaving banners reading "Falun Dafa is Good" hanging from buildings and bridges. Or they have set up loud speakers around very busy places in the city that broadcast the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. Other times busy streets will find thousands of pamphlets that reveal the truth falling from the roofs of buildings. In these instances the police have nobody to arrest.
• They continue to risk their life to stand up for the truth. Never have they sworn or fought back. They continually use their compassion to give these wrong doers another chance to do the right thing. Further more they use clarity and wisdom to carry out these tasks in the safest manner possible.
• Aside from the world embracing Falun Dafa, this exhibition of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance in the face of such vicious and horrifying persecution is unprecedented in the history of our human civilisation.
• This to me is the greatest example of the power and purity of Falun Dafa and is the greatest motivation in my own cultivation.

After giving this explanation, a listener and I both smiled at each other because we had goose bumps all over our bodies and our hair was standing on end. Another women said, "WOW this world is amazing, thank you for the work you are doing." Many stood with their mouths hanging open while others smiled and asked where they could learn Falun Dafa. At the end of the health show several hundred people had not only signed to support Falun Dafa and to condemn the persecution but at least understood the power of Fa.
