On December 8, 2000, on the eve of German Foreign Minister Fischer's departure for a visit to China, the representatives of Falun Gong practitioners in Germany delivered an open letter to the Minister. In this open letter, Germany's Falun Gong practitioners sincerely requested Foreign Minister Fischer to make every effort in contacts with Chinese officials to urge them to stop China's suppression of and illegal treatment and brutality toward Falun Gong.
A group of UK Falun Gong practitioners attended Amnesty International' Regional Meeting in London on 9 December 2000. Representatives of the various Amnesty Groups in London and the South East of England attended. These representatives are very influential because each Amnesty Group is autonomous - they do not have to do what Amnesty' headquarters say. It was important for the practitioners at the meeting to explain the truth about Falun Gong to each representative so that each local group will help.
