There are public TV stations in all cities and towns in the US, which cover the whole nation like a dense net. Some stations are operated with government funds; some are supported by donations from local organizations and companies. Their goal is to serve the interests of local residents and organizations. They encourage organizations to provide programs and participate in program production. They offer basic training for amateur directors, photographers, and editors, etc.

Some practitioners are interested in TV production, and they attended the training classes to qualify as amateur directors and photographers for public TV stations. After getting the qualifications, we can apply for fixed and non-fixed program time to have Dafa programs broadcasted by local TV stations for free.

Some TV stations do not require you to be on their staff. As long as you are a local resident and provide the necessary information, they will show your programs for free or for a nominal charge.

The TV stations can provide equipment for you to edit and produce the programs; you may also borrow their lighting and other equipment for exterior shooting. In this way you can produce simple programs.

The programs you provide do not have to be in English. For Chinese programs, you should provide English translations to relate the detailed contents.

Some points of attention when contacting local TV stations:

1. Spread the Fa and systematically tell them the truth of Dafa, and let them be our first audience. If they realize the truth of Falun Gong and agree to broadcast our program, then others can hardly interfere. We may start from showing half an hour or one hour of our programs per week.

2. After getting the permission, you may need to know the standards and modes of tapes for that TV station, plus where the local mode transfer shop is. The most commonly used mode is beta cam.

3. Order program tapes from "Illumination" TV Production Center. You should provide at least eight tapes to qualify for a fixed broadcasting schedule from the stations; otherwise, they would worry if you can keep providing the programs in time.

Let's all give it a try to cover all regions with the voice and images of Dafa, and to form a vast net of telling the truth.
