(Clearwisdom.net) The very first Shen Yun performance in Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, was met with a very enthusiastic response as it graced the stage at the Edinburgh Playhouse on April 8, 2009. Lord and Lady Penrose highly praised the New York-based company. Lord Penrose served as a judge for almost twenty years, and is well-known for his detailed inquiry into the collapse of a large insurance company.

Lord Penrose said of the performance, "It was excellent. Really excellent. Tremendous variety and costumes and in performance. And the singing of your two soloists is just superb. Very, very good."

Lady Penrose said, "I thought that the costumes were just amazing. And the lightness of their feet--just dancing around, it was lovely. I really enjoyed it."

Great Positive Message

Mrs. Walsh, a property investor from Dublin, Ireland, greatly enjoyed seeing Shen Yun for the first time. She said it was, "Excellent--a lovely combination of music and dance and color." She added that Dublin would be very happy to receive Shen Yun, saying they would get a "very warm reception!"

"I also thought that it really represented the very best of Chinese culture, as well as Falun Gong--great positive [message about] Falun Gong. Wonderful, magical performance," she added.

She said, "I thought the piece where the father was persecuted for practicing Falun Gong was very poignant and moving ['Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution']." Though the story is tragic, it has a message of hope.

She found classical Chinese dance to be "Wonderful!" and added that she was very impressed by the erhu piece, "A wonderful piece of musical artistry--magical!"

Referring to "The Five Millennia Begin," she said, "The opening scene was wonderful, because you were working from a clean palate--you didn't know what to expect. And it was a wonderful introduction!"

Financial Director: "Uplifting and absolutely beautiful!"

Also welcoming Shen Yun to Edinburgh was Ms. Davidson, a financial business director. Her daughter Anne, a university student, has studied ballet for 15 years.

Anne was profoundly moved by the performances that touch upon contemporary issues in China. "I was in tears at the end with the one about the father," she said of the dance "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution."

Ms. Davidson said she "loved the spectacle, loved the color. It was uplifting, exciting, and absolutely beautiful."

Anne was intrigued by this expression of authentic Chinese culture, "It was really graceful, really flowing, dynamic!"
