Additional Persecution News from China – January 27, 2026 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. An Shunlian Jailed

Ms. An Shunlian, 78, was recently admitted to the Yunnan Province Second Women’s Prison to serve a 3.5-year term.

2. [Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Cai Guanying Formally Arrested

Ms. Cai Guangying was formally arrested on December 31, 2025, by Guangling District Police Department officers. Her family has hired a lawyer for her.

3. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Ruiying and Ms. Pan Ruihua Arrested

Ms. Pan Ruiying and her sister, Ms. Pan Ruihua, were arrested by Shahe Town Police Station officers on January 26, 2026, when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Shahe Town Street Market. The police ransacked their homes, seized their Falun Gong exercise music players and printouts. The sisters were released the same day after police extorted 50,000 yuan from each of them. The police went to their homes again the next day and collected their signatures.

4. [Dunhua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guifen Jailed

Ms. Li Guifen was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in early January 2025. Due to her high blood pressure and a lung tumor, the judge did not order her to immediately start serving time. However, on December 24, 2025, she was arrested and taken to the Yanji Detention Center.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Yingjie Faces Trial

Ms. Yu Yingjie was arrested at home on September 16, 2025. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a tablet, a phone, and other items. She was recently indicted and is facing trial by the Chaoyang District Court.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guan Lianbin Appealed

Mr. Guan Lianbin was sentenced to four years in prison. His appeal has been accepted by the Harbin City Intermediate Court on January 26, 2025.

7. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Jiang Zhaoying Harassed

Ms. Jiang Zhaoying, 73, was forcibly taken by the Shuanggang Residential Committee clerks to a brainwashing center on January 15, 2026. She was released two days later, as her body was trembling and her blood pressure was elevated.

8. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] More Than a Dozen Practitioners Arrested or Detained

More than a dozen practitioners were arrested between January 17 to 21, 2026, by officers from the Shiping District Domestic Security Division and Zhenxing Police Station. The practitioners’ homes were ransacked. Some practitioners are admitted to the Shiping District Detention Center. Four are being held in the Liangshui Town Detention Center.

9. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested or Detained

Six practitioners were arrested on January 6, 2026, by Dongfeng Police Station officers. Mr. Zhao Xianghai is still being held in the Jinan City Detention Center. Mr. Liu Sitang, Ms. Chen Qiuyu, and Zhang Hui, gender unknown, have been released. The situations of Hu Hua, gender unknown, and Ms. Pan Juan aren’t clear.

10. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Xiaohua Detained

Ms. Wu Xiaohua was arrested on January 4, 2026, by Zhonghuajie Police Station officers. She was detained for 10 days and released on January 14.

11. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wu Qiuqin Detained

Ms. Wu Qiuqin was arrested at home for talking to police officers about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained for more than ten days.

12. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Du Ping Detained

Ms. Du Ping was arrested in a high-speed train station on January 5, 2026. The police searched her carry on bag and two cell phones. They accused her of having Falun Gong files in her phones and took her to the police station for interrogation. She was released later that day, but her phones were confiscated.

Officer Gao of Huayuan Police Station ordered Ms. Du to report to the police station on January 19. She was taken to the Dandong City Lookup for fives days and released on January 24.

13. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Kan Jixiang and Ms. Chen Arrested

Ms. Kan Jixiang was arrested on January 21, 2026. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Hedong Detention Center the next day and denied admission. She was released in the evening.

Ms. Chen, first name unknown, was arrested on January 21, 2026, and released the same day.
