Additional Persecution News from China – August 7, 2025 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Kunfang Indicted

3. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Qi Arrested
4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wen Gangyi Arrested

6. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Guoxi Persecuted
7. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qin Jiamin and Several Other Practitioners Harassed
8. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Tongqin and Her Sister Harassed
9. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Harassed
10. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center
11. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Yao Jianlu Released from Detention Center

13. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Guo Chunfang and Ms. Yang Sizhen Admitted to Prison

1. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Kunfang Indicted

Ms. Li Kunfang was arrested by Yunshan Town Police Station officers at noon on May 12, 2025, for hanging a Falun Gong banner. The officers ransacked her home and took her to the Pudong Detention Center the next day. She was indicted and is now facing trial by the Pingdu City Court.

2. [Shanghai] Mr. Huang Jiayuan Arrested

Mr. Huang Jiayuan was arrested by officers from the Wujin Police Department in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, on July 29, 2025. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated several computers.

3. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Qi Arrested

Ms. Wang Qi was arrested by Tongliao City Domestic Security Division officers on the afternoon of August 5, 2025. The officers confiscated dozens of Falun Gong books and a photo of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Wang was taken to the Tongliao City Detention Center that evening for a 15-day detention.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wen Gangyi Arrested

Ms. Wen Gangyi, 56, was arrested by the local police on July 22, 2025, after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Qifen Arrested

Ms. Zhang Qifen, 74, was arrested at around 7 a.m. on July 18, 2025. She is being held in the Weizigou Detention Center.

6. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qi Guoxi Persecuted

Mr. Qi Guoxi was recently again persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. Further details are pending.

7. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qin Jiamin and Several Other Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Qin Jiamin, 54, was harassed by Gaoping Town Police Station officers on the morning of July 23, 2025. The officers secretly took photos of her with their cell phones. The same officers also harassed several more practitioners that day.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Tongqin and Her Sister Harassed

Ms. Wang Tongqin and her sister were at their shared home when the police knocked on their door from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on July 16, 2025. As the women refused to open the door, the officers turned off the power supply to their home. The two sisters then went to one of their children’s homes.

Ms. Wang and her sister went back home on the morning of July 25 to retrieve some items. As soon as they arrived, the community workers knocked on the door to harass them.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Harassed

Officer Hao from the Yuyang Police Station in Pinggu District and other community workers went to Mr. Liu Yaping’s home around 7 p.m. on August 6, 2025. They asked Mr. Liu if he still practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Liu refused to cooperate with the harassment.

10. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Shi Liqin, Ms. Zheng Zaiju, Xi Xiangming, and Wang Bing were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center in July 2025.

11. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Yao Jianlu Released from Detention Center

Yao Jianlu was arrested on July 18, 2025. He was released from the Zhangjiagou Detention Center on August 1, 2025.

12. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Xiaoli Detained

Ms. Song Xiaoli was arrested on July 31, 2025. She was placed on criminal detention at the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center the next day.

13. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Guo Chunfang and Ms. Yang Sizhen Admitted to Prison

Ms. Guo Chunfang, 56, Ms. Yang Sizhen, and her husband Mr. Xiao Wenxue, were arrested on October 14, 2024 at their shared rental place. The local court later sentenced Ms. Guo to four years in prison, Ms. Yang to twenty months in prison, and Mr. Xiao to one year with two years probation. Ms. Guo and Ms. Yang were admitted to the Sichuan Province Women’s Prison on July 12 and August 6, 2025, respectively.
