(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Qingjie Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhai Shanyong Arrested
3. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cheng Xuli Arrested
4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Shulan Arrested
5. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Guojun Arrested
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Xiaoli Arrested
7. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Shuhui Returned Home After Seven Years in Prison
8. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Guicun and His Wife Ms. Chen Ji’e Arrested
1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Qingjie Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
Ms. Meng Qingjie, 73, was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 50,000 yuan by the Dadong District Court on March 26, 2025. She appealed with the Shenyang City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold the original verdict. She is scheduled to be transferred from the Shenyang City First Detention Center to prison by the end of August 2025.
2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhai Shanyong Arrested
Mr. Zhai Shanyong was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials. He was arrested on the morning of July 30, 2025.
3. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cheng Xuli Arrested
Ms. Cheng Xuli was arrested by domestic security police at the Anlu City Railway Station at 12:30 a.m. on July 28, 2025, when she was taking a train back from Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. She is currently held in a local lockup.
4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Shulan Arrested
Ms. Wu Shulan from Dürburte Mongol Autonomous County was arrested at home by four police officers on the morning of July 30, 2025. All her Falun Gong books and other materials were confiscated. Her elderly husband was left to fend for himself. The police revealed that they had been monitoring her for a year before arresting her.
5. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Guojun Arrested
Mr. Chen Guojun was recorded by surveillance cameras posting Falun Gong messages in public places. Binhe Road Police Station officers broke into his home and arrested him in July 2025. They interrogated him and released him the same day.
6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Song Xiaoli Arrested
Ms. Song Xiaoli was arrested and had her home searched by Xizhaotong Police Station officers at noon on July 31, 2025.
7. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Shuhui Returned Home After Seven Years in Prison
Ms. Liu Shuhui, 85, returned home on May 4, 2025, after serving a prison term of seven years.
8. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Guicun and His Wife Ms. Chen Ji’e Arrested
Mr. Chen Guicun and his wife Ms. Chen Ji’e, from Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County, were arrested and had their home ransacked by seven Qingyuan County Domestic Security Division officers at 10 p.m. on July 21, 2025. Mr. Chen is held in the Dashagou Detention Center in Qingyuan County and Ms. Chen is held in the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City. Both are under criminal detention and have been interrogated by Qingyuan County Domestic Security Division officers. Their lawyer visited Mr. Chen on July 29 and Ms. Chen the day after.
