(Minghui.org) Practitioners in South Australia held a series of events outside the Parliament House, the Chinese Consulate, and at City Square in Adelaide on July 16-21, 2025. They told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners in China for 26 years, and recently implemented a campaign of transnational repression. They called for the persecution to end.

Calling to End the CCP’s Brutal Persecution
Falun Dafa representative Ms. Mei called for an end to the CCP’s persecution of practitioners.
Ms. Mei, a local Falun Dafa spokesperson, condemned the CCP’s persecution which has gone on for 26 years, “Seventy-six practitioners are confirmed to have been persecuted to death in the first half of 2025. Ninety-seven practitioners were sentenced to prison for their faith in January 2025. So far the confirmed practitioners who have been persecuted to death on Minghui website surpasses 5,200. This is only the tip of the iceberg. The actual number is far higher.”
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed along two bills for Senate approval, the Falun Gong Protection Act and the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act. She said, “These bills send a clear message: The world is watching and will not tolerate the CCP’s human rights violation atrocities any longer.
“In the past 26 years, practitioners both in China and overseas have remained peaceful and rational despite the persecution. They adhere to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They are doing it not just for themselves, but also for the entire world. Silence doesn’t help the victims; it only enables the perpetrators.”
She called on the Australian government to openly condemn the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, and demand that the CCP immediately release all detained practitioners. She also called on the Australian government to pass legislation to stop the CCP from harvesting organs from practitioners and punish the perpetrators.
Calling for Legislation to Stop the CCP’s Organ Harvesting
Falun Dafa practitioner Ngoc addressed the rally outside the State Parliament to expose the CCP’s crimes of organ harvesting.
Ngoc addressed the rally, and said, “David Matas, a Canadian human rights lawyer, visited this Parliament. He presented his investigative report with David Kilgour about the CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners. He urged all countries to legislate to stop ‘the crimes never before seen on this planet’. He said that one of the reasons that the CCP was able to harvest organs on a large scale was that there wasn’t an international legislative mechanism to stop the crimes.
“The London-based Independent China Tribunal also concluded that the CCP harvests organs on a large scale, mainly from Falun Gong practitioners. It is a crime of genocide.
“More and more countries have set up legislation and policies. Israel and Taiwan have adopted measures to restrict organ transplant tourism and enhance transparency in organ sourcing. The Magnitsky Act has also become a powerful tool for many countries to sanction human rights violators.”
She calls for an end to the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.
Barbara has attended the July 20th event every year since 2002. She said the CCP must stop the persecution immediately.
Barbara, who is 75 years old, has attended the July 20th event every year since 2002. She said that this persecution must end now, and that the Chinese people should be able to freely practice Falun Dafa like people in Australia can. She said that Falun Dafa is a beautiful cultivation practice.
United to Speak Out to Oppose CCP’s Transnational Repression
About 20 people from Ukraine came to the Parliament House to express their concern about their rights. They stopped to listen to the speakers at the practitioners’ rally. They learned the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa. Many of them signed the petition.
Valentine Shimaniuk, a translator from Ukraine, said that the CCP’s transnational repression was illegal.
Valentine Shimaniuk, the translator for the group of Ukrainians, said that he knew the nature of communism very well because he grew up under the Soviet Union, a communist totalitarian regime, and that the CCP’s transnational repression was an infiltration, which he strongly objected to. According to Australian law, it is illegal to suppress the freedom of speech and beliefs of other people, he added.
Eddie, a local citizen, said that there was no reason for the CCP to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, and that it was sad that people were being persecuted for their beliefs, especially since Falun Dafa was peaceful.
He encouraged Australian people to unite and urge the government to protest the CCP’s persecution and transnational repression of Falun Dafa.
Martin from New South Wales signed the petition to support Falun Dafa practitioners.
Martin from New South Wales stopped and read the banners. He said that he preferred talking to people instead of getting news from the media. He wanted to know more when he saw that the practitioners were gathered there to speak on behalf of people on the other side of the earth about their human rights.
He signed the petition after talking to the practitioners and said that we must let more people and the government know about these atrocities, such as the CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners. He emphasized that the government shouldn’t care only about trade and remain silent on human rights matters.
He was concerned about the safety of Falun Dafa practitioners in Australia. He was angry with the CCP’s transnational repression, secret agents, and spies in Australia. He said that more people should step out to condemn the CCP, and that he supports Falun Dafa practitioners because they are doing the right thing.
Candlelight Vigil Outside the Chinese Consulate
Practitioners in Adelaide held a candlelight vigil outside the Chinese Consulate.
Practitioners in South Australia held a candlelight vigil to commemorate the practitioners in China who were persecuted to death.
One young Chinese man asked who the people with the wreaths were. When he learned that they represented Falun Dafa practitioners who were persecuted to death, he became emotional, and said that people should have freedom of belief. He said that in China, one of his neighbors, a grandfather, practiced Falun Dafa, and his pension was stopped, but the man kept practicing. He was glad to know more about Falun Dafa and took some flyers and pamphlets. He withdrew from the Party's Youth League.
Another Chinese noted that, in Australia, the police protect practitioners, while in China, the police arrest them.
