Belgium: Falun Dafa Practitioners Call for an End to the CCP’s Persecution in Front of the Chinese Consulate for the 26th Year

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Belgium held an event in front of the Chinese Consulate in Brussels on July 18, 2025.

They meditated, demonstrated the exercises, and raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa, as well as the regime escalating the transnational repression overseas. The persecution has persisted for 26 years, and practitioners have held a peaceful protest at this place every year over that period.

The CCP began persecuting Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, and this persecution is considered the longest and most brutal persecution in contemporary China. Over these years, through Falun Dafa practitioners’ efforts to clarify the truth all over the world, the practice’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are gradually taking root in people’s hearts.

The practice has spread to more than 100 countries and regions all over the world, and Falun Dafa’s books have been translated into 50 languages. Mr. Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa have received more than 10,000 proclamations, legislative resolutions, and letters of support from governments around the world.

Falun Dafa practitioners in Belgium held an event in front of the Chinese Consulate on July 18, 2025, to call for an end to the CCP’s 26-year persecution of Falun Dafa.

Spreading the Truth and Promoting Dafa

The president of the Belgium Falun Dafa Association, Nico Bijnens, said that the process of ending the persecution is also a process of spreading the truth about Falun Dafa. Having cultivated in Falun Dafa for the past 20 years, he has benefited a lot from his cultivation and said he hopes that he can share the wonderfulness of Falun Dafa with even more people.

Nico Bijnens thinks that the day when the whole world recognizes the CCP’s evil is the day when the CCP collapses.

Mr. Nico said that Belgium has nine practice sites and practitioners also host free webinars to help more people learn about Falun Dafa. “Falun Dafa not only benefits people both physically and mentally, it also helps people improve their morality,” he said.

He thinks that the CCP’s authoritarian nature makes it unable to tolerate the existence of groups that advocate Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, which are independent of its control, so this is one reason the CCP’s launched its persecution. The CCP claimed it would destroy Falun Dafa within three months at the beginning of the persecution, but 26 years have passed and not only has Falun Dafa yet to be destroyed, it is growing instead. The CCP’s torture, brainwashing, and defamatory propaganda to make people hate the practice only served to help people have a clearer recognition of the Party’s evil nature.

In the attempt to expose the CCP’s atrocities, Falun Dafa practitioners have created independent media platforms to expose the CCP’s persecution of people with beliefs.

Mr. Nico added that the CCP has been infiltrating overseas media for a long time, spreading lies in its attempt to damage Falun Dafa’ public credibility and stop the spread of the truth. However, these methods are increasingly causing resentment among people in free societies. “What the CCP has done is just going to accelerate its collapse,” he said.

The CCP’s Infiltration Overseas and Opposing Transnational Persecution

Wilfred Duchamps thinks that the CCP’s threatening and brainwashing cannot gain a foothold in the free world after all.

Falun Dafa practitioner Wilfred Duchamps has been cultivating for the past 20 years. He recalled that when he first got in touch with Falun Dafa, he felt the improvements in his mind and body through his cultivation. At the same time, he also found it hard to understand why the CCP persecutes a group of people who are trying their best to be kind, selfless, and without desires. He pointed out that the CCP is afraid of people having the ability to think independently or of people having righteousness and their own beliefs. Therefore, it suppresses everything that is beyond its control.

Wilfred also shared his experience of when he joined an event in Brussels, “I remember that there was once when I was participating in a peaceful truth-clarification event in Brussels and it was being disturbed by many youths, who looked like foreign students, that were instructed by the Chinese Consulate. These youths held up CCP flags and tried to cause a disturbance to the event. One young man directly sat in the middle of our practice site and did not heed our persuasion; the leading girl’s emotions were extremely out of control, as she shouted loudly and yelled. In the end, they were taken away by the police.”

“This is not China. The CCP is ignoring the rule of law and suppressing people at will,” he said.

Wilfred emphasized that the CCP’s transnational repression of Falun Dafa has already affected many countries, but the CCP’s methods don’t work in the free world. He called for people around the world to recognize the CCP’s true nature, choose righteousness, and defend the universal values of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.

Filip exposes the CCP’s lies and stop the persecution.

Falun Dafa practitioner Filip has been persisting in joining truth-clarification events, including parades, community sharing, and meditating in front of the Chinese Consulate for the past 26 years. He said that the CCP has been controlling overseas media, pressuring the political world, and even resorting to violence to extend its persecution overseas.

He mentioned that when the Shen Yun Performing Arts came to perform in the Netherlands this year, the Western media were influenced by the CCP and quoted negative reports about the performing arts group. His daughter thus had questions about the group, and he had to explain the reality to her. He pointed out that many people could not get in touch with the facts, so practitioners must persist in exposing the CCP’s lies, “Even if only one person understands the facts, it is still worth the effort,” he said.

Karin thinks that speaking out to condemn the persecution is the first step in upholding justice.

Falun Dafa practitioner Karin has been cultivating in Falun Dafa for 20 years, and she pays great attention to the CCP’s atrocities of harvesting Falun Dafa practitioners’ organs while they are still alive. She has participated in the nationwide “Stop Live Organ Harvesting” petition and hopes to arouse society’s attention to the crimes that are being committed by the CCP.

Karin says that the CCP not only covers up the truth, it even keeps adding persecution methods. Although some countries and organizations have begun to pay attention to this persecution, in general the international community’s knowledge about the CCP’s systematic persecution of human rights is still far from enough. This is especially true with regards to the problems of forced organ harvesting. Most people find it hard to believe when they first hear about this matter. They think that this kind of thing could not be happening in modern society. However, this is the frightening part about the CCP. It not only covers up the truth, it even keeps expanding its persecution.

Ms. Karin called for governments to enact laws, such as prohibiting the use of organs from China that came from unidentified sources, and imposing asset freezes and entry restrictions on human rights offenders. She stressed that, “Silence will only aid the growth of evil. Speaking out to condemn the persecution is the first step in upholding justice.”
