(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a rally and a candlelight vigil in Wen-Xin Forest Park, Taichung City, Taiwan, on July 20, 2025. The activities were held to raise public awareness of the 26-year-long persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. At the candlelight vigil, the adherents commemorated the practitioners who died because they refused to renounce their faith or the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
Falun Gong practitioners held a rally and a canglelight vigil in Wen-Xin Forest Park in Taichung City on July 20, 2025. The activities raised awareness of the ongoing persecution in China.
The practitioners living in central and southern Taiwan arrived at Forest Park in the afternoon. Some demonstrated the five Falun Gong exercises, while others displayed posters showing details of the persecution, and still others held banners that read, “Falun Dafa is good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and “Stop the persecution of Falun Gong.” Many passersby approached the practitioners to show support for their efforts. One shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”

It started raining in the afternoon, but that did not stop local representatives from coming out and supporting the practitioners. They called on the public to condemn the persecution and support the practitioners’ efforts to end it.
Condemning the CCP’s Transnational Suppression
Taichung City Councilor Liu Shi-Chou is holding a candle to honor the practitioners who passed away due to torture.
Taichung City Councilor Liu Shi-Chou attended the rally to express his respect and support for the practitioners. Touched by their ongoing efforts to expose the facts about the persecution year after year, he said, “What you do will not be in vain, and justice will be served one day.” He also joined the candlelight vigil honoring the practitioners who passed away because of the persecution.
Liu said, “Falun Gong is a peaceful and rational group, yet the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) chose to persecute it. The practitioners are detained and tortured. The CCP systemically harvested many practitioners’ organs while they were still alive. The free world should condemn the CCP’s cruelty. The world’s people despise the CCP’s actions.”
The CCP mobilized its agents to persecute practitioners outside China. They sent bomb threats to the theaters scheduled to premiere “State Organs,” a film exposing the atrocity of live organ harvesting. They also instigated former Shen Yun artists to file lawsuits against the arts group to disrupt its performances. Liu said, “All democratic countries should condemn and stop this [interference]. We should not allow an evil and human rights-trampling regime to get its way, especially in Taiwan.”
Liu hoped that in the near future, the persecution would end, and that the Chinese people would wake up and dissolve the CCP so that China could become a peaceful nation.
Condemning the CCP’s Violence
Nantou County Councilor Liao Ziyo called for more people to stand up and condemn the CCP’s transnational suppression of Falun Gong.
When talking about the CCP spreading its repression globally, Nantou County Councillor Liao Ziyo said that the CCP tried to prevent the movie from being shown because it feared its crimes against humanity would be exposed. She urged more people to condemn and expose the CCP’s violence.
Liao agreed with Falun Gong practitioners’ approach of peacefully and rationally exposing the persecution over the past 26 years. She said, “They have achieved peace of mind through cultivation. They are very good people. Practicing Falun Gong can improve our physical and mental fitness. With people’s moral levels upgraded, the world will be more peaceful.”
Commenting on the 26 years of persecution and the atrocity of live organ harvesting, Liao said, “We hope Taiwan and the rest of the world will pay more attention to this issue. World peace is a universal value, and the CCP must immediately end the persecution.”
Exposing the CCP’s Crimes and Supporting Falun Gong
Taichung City Councilors Li Tian-sheng (left) and Chen Ya-Hui (right) spoke at the rally despite the rain.
Taichung City Councilor Li Tian-sheng is a long-time supporter of Falun Gong who attends the event each year to show his support. He described the persecution as “inhuman, extremely evil,” and called the CCP “abominable.”
Li said that the practitioners uphold the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and are a group of “very precious and benevolent” people. He called on everyone to support them. “People in Taiwan should see through the CCP’s evil nature and stay away from it.”
It was Taichung City Councilor Chen Ya-Hui’s first time attending a Falun Gong rally. She could not comprehend why the CCP persecuted a peaceful group of people, even harvesting their organs while they were still alive. She told the practitioners that their rights are protected in Taiwan because it is a democratic country. She condemned the malicious measures the CCP uses to persecute Falun Gong, and urged everyone to oppose the evil regime.

Taichung City Councilor Huang Shou-Da sent a video expressing his support for practitioners. Because the CCP has not stopped the persecution, he urged those with a conscience and sense of justice to stand up and condemn the CCP. He hopes everyone will work together to end the CCP’s tyranny so China can once again embrace conscience and justice.
Passerby Stops to Show Support
A friend of a local practitioner said he wanted to attend the event to show his support. After learning that the practice was very effective in healing illnesses, he expressed interest in learning it.
When he was told about the brutal persecution and the atrocity of live organ harvesting, he expressed disbelief. “It blows my mind to learn that live organ harvesting still exists in a modern society. Removing people’s organs against their will is unusually cruel and violates their most basic human rights.”
It’s been over a quarter of a century since the persecution began. Falun Gong practitioners have continued to expose the CCP’s inhumanity. Their only hope is to help more people learn the facts about the persecution and ultimately end it.
