(Minghui.org) A person’s life is filled with hustle and bustle. Some pursue fame and fortune, while others seek material abundance. When all external pursuits fail to satisfy the true longings of the heart, people often ask themselves: What is the purpose of this life? What is the true meaning of life? Taiwanese traditional Chinese medicine practitioner Mr. Wang Jinduo has profound insights on this matter.

He said that since practicing Falun Gong, he has not only found the meaning of life but also learned how to live a better life. Furthermore, under the guidance of Falun Gong, he has enhanced his medical skills. He can apply his understanding of Falun Gong’s principles to guide patients and help them recover their physical and mental health gradually.

Mr. Wang has been helping out at his father’s traditional Chinese medicine shop since childhood, and he has developed a deep interest in the field. He studied aviation engineering at National Cheng Kung University but could not shake his passion for traditional Chinese medicine.

He then enrolled at China Medical University, where he earned a dual degree in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. He went on to work as an attending physician at several major hospitals in Taiwan before opening his own traditional Chinese medicine clinic in Tainan, where he continues to practice to this day.

First Impressions After Reading Zhuan Falun: Experiencing Extraordinary Energy

Twenty years ago, while undergoing specialized training in Western medicine at the National Cheng Kung University, Mr. Wang came across an introduction to Falun Gong.

He said, “I was immediately moved and felt I should learn more.” At that time, a Falun Gong practitioner told him to read Zhuan Falun. He found the book and read it in one sitting. He said, “While reading, I felt as if a warm current was flowing from my head down through my body.” Later, he understood from the Fa that this phenomenon was probably because Master was purifying his body.

As a doctor, Mr. Wang observed that human life is inextricably linked to birth, aging, sickness, and death and that no one can live an easy life. He felt that life should have higher aspirations. After reading Master Li Hongzhi’s book Zhuan Falun, which solves a lot of life’s mysteries and leads us to a higher realm of life, he then decided to take up Falun Gong cultivation.

Fatigue Disappears, Body and Mind Relaxed

As an attending physician, Mr. Wang felt that his body was easily fatigued due to his busy work. So, he decided to go to the Falun Gong practice site one day a week to participate in group exercises in addition to practicing at home every day. After some time, the fatigue disappeared, and he noted, “I felt very relaxed.”

There have also been changes in his mental state. Mr. Wang said, “Before practicing, I was quite sentimental and prone to worry. I would fret about my future. After practicing, I gradually let go of these thoughts. I realized that many things are predestined and cannot be changed by worrying. I just need to do my very best in the present.”

From studying the Fa, he also came to understand that “in fact, the more virtue one has, the more blessings one will receive. What each person is able to possess may simply be the blessings they earned in their previous life.” After realizing that the gains and losses in life are related to one’s virtue or karma, “I will be content and not compare myself to others. However, I will still strive to do what I should do, but with a light heart.”

Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are the Purest Sources of Energy

Mr. Wang also realized: “Traditional Chinese medicine is a divine culture. In the past, most traditional Chinese medicine practitioners were Taoist practitioners, and many medical skills were passed down from Taoist practitioners. Doctors must cultivate themselves and return to their true nature so that they can gradually improve their medical skills and benefit patients.”

Due to cultivation, he not only gained a deeper understanding of the meaning of life but also made significant progress in his understanding and achieved breakthroughs in Chinese medicine. “Through learning and practicing Falun Gong, I found that the efficacy of treating diseases has improved. In the past, I had been looking for quick treatment methods, but now I find that as long as I calm down and put my heart into it, my Chinese medicine skills continue to improve.”

He also experienced some miraculous healing effects after practicing Falun Gong. “I feel some miraculous effects that cannot be explained. So I think it must be that practicing Falun Gong has strengthened my energy, producing invisible effects.”

He further explained his understanding and insights: “Our bodies have three energy systems. The first is the physical body. The second energy system is the meridians of the body. The third energy system is in the mind. It is like what people refer to as positive energy and negative energy. Nowadays, medical doctors are researching the energy of the mind, which can be quantified using muscle testing. A score of 200 is the threshold, with scores above 200 being positive energy and scores below 200 being negative energy.

“In modern society, moral standards are declining, positive energy is dissipating, and negative energy is prevalent. Many of the negative things happening in society are the result of negative energy in people’s hearts. People with positive energy tend to be optimistic, compassionate, and peaceful toward others.”

He believes that illness means that the body is in a state of disharmony. Western medicine can usually relieve pain in the physical body, but the body is still in a state of disharmony. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment is to harmonize the body’s energy systems to relieve physical discomfort.

Falun Gong cultivation, however, far surpasses both Chinese and Western medicine. He understands that Falun Gong is not intended to cure diseases but is a high-level cultivation method. “However, practicing Falun Gong can strengthen the body’s energy channels and unblock obstructions, thereby alleviating some physical ailments.”

Falun Gong practitioners cultivate Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, which requires moral improvement. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are the purest sources of energy.

He mentioned that ancient books say, “When righteous energy resides within, evil cannot interfere; when the spirit is guarded within, illness cannot arise. Many people become ill because their righteous energy has declined.” Therefore, he believes that practicing Falun Gong and following Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is, from a medical perspective, the best way for modern people to maintain their health.

Empathy for Patients, Guiding Them to Another Path in Life

Cultivation also helped Wang Jinduo break through many inherent notions. He found that there are many reasons why a person gets sick. “In practice, we can see the essence of the disease more clearly, as well as the factors behind the patient’s illness, making it easier to empathize with the patient’s feelings.

“Knowing what kind of emotional knots the patient has, I can treat them while also providing psychological guidance to help them untie these knots. Sometimes, I suggest that they take a look at Falun Gong books, as this may help them find another path in life.”

At the same time, he also realized that there is a causal relationship between medicine and illness. “When treating patients, I believe in fate. For example, a certain treatment method may be effective for many people, but why is it ineffective for this particular patient? In the past, I might have felt a little annoyed or lost, but now my mood is less fluctuating, and I do not become obsessed.

“On the other hand, even after curing a patient, there is no desire to prove my medical skill. I simply feel that this may have been the patient’s time and that it was right to resolve his issue. In other words, during the diagnosis and treatment process, my mind remains calm, without significant fluctuations.”

Promoting Dafa as a Mission

Mr. Wang, 64 years old, is gentle and sincere, looking younger than his actual age. Many people are curious about how he is able to maintain his youthful appearance. He explains that Falun Gong is a practice that cultivates both the body and mind and through regular practice, will naturally make one appear younger.

Having personally experienced the benefits of practicing Falun Gong, he often recommends it to his friends, saying, “Falun Gong is the most suitable ancient practice for modern people. It does not require you to change your lifestyle or adopt a vegetarian diet. You can continue your normal life and work; just set aside some time each day to practice the exercises and study the teachings. Anyone can practice, and it does not interfere with the obligations and routines of daily life.”

Four years ago, he began collaborating with a university professor to host seminars, sharing their experiences of the physical and mental benefits of practicing Falun Gong from their respective professional backgrounds. To date, they have held 55 seminars across Taiwan. He estimates that, on average, ten people sign up for the nine-day Falun Gong class after each one, including many from mainstream and tech industries, and begin practicing. These seminars are still ongoing.

He realized that practicing Falun Gong is the source of his life energy, and promoting Falun Gong is his mission. He hopes to share the beauty of Falun Gong with more people and help them regain physical and mental ease and health.
