Having Righteous Thoughts at All Times Turns Bad into Good

(Minghui.org) Dafa disciples develop great powers through righteous thoughts and are able to correct unrighteous conditions because we are practitioners cultivating on a path to divinity under the guidance of Master. The verses we recite before sending forth righteous thoughts are connected to Master’s powers. Therefore, when the old forces try to influence bad individuals to attack Dafa, it is our responsibility to eliminate the evil factors using the powers we have. This also serves as a precious opportunity for our own cultivation.

Dafa disciples should believe that we have the power to turn bad into good. I would like to share some of my experiences while I was held in a labor camp.

I remember when we were persecuted in the labor camp, we learned that every season, people from the 610 Office and the provincial government bureau would come to speak with every Dafa disciple to try to coerce us into giving up our cultivation. So we began to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors in other dimensions, targeting both the labor camp and the provincial bureau. After some time, they stopped sending people over.

When the labor camp invited people to give speeches, because we were not allowed to talk to each other, we practitioners exchanged knowing glances on the way to the auditorium: send forth righteous thoughts was our unspoken message. As a result, most of the speakers exposed and criticized the corruption among CCP officials, which drew strong applause from both Falun Gong practitioners and the regular labor camp inmates. Sending forth righteous thoughts had a great impact.

Master said,

“Dafa disciples are able to righteously look the evil people straight in the eyes, and the evil people immediately try to avoid eye contact. That’s because the righteous thoughts scare off the evil beings that manipulate the evil people, since they know that if they flee just a bit too slowly they’ll be instantly eliminated by Dafa disciples’ righteous thoughts.” (“Touring North America to Teach the Fa”)

While I was in the labor camp, I made a point of looking intensely into the eyes of the prison guards. It turned out they would immediately avoid eye contact and quickly cast their eyes downward. This was especially poignant, as the guards often ordered inmates to look down in order to humiliate them.

What Dafa disciples think can be manifested into reality through the practice of sending forth righteous thoughts. As an example, when a guard treated the practitioners badly, I sent forth righteous thoughts to influence him to fight with other guards, thus deflecting his evil intentions away from the practitioners. The next day, I overheard a collaborator say that the guard had indeed gotten into a fight.

I remember the first day I arrived at the labor camp, a cell supervisor pressured me to renounce my faith. “There’s nothing wrong with being good people,” I said, “I won’t ‘transform.’” “I just slapped a teenage Falun Gong practitioner to the ground,” he growled in intimidation. “They are good people. It’s not good for you to do so,” I told him out of compassion. He yelled, “Are you saying I’m going to meet with retribution?” I quietly answered, “Yes.”

In situations like these, I often replied affirmatively in order to make it happen. Before long, I heard that someone was slapped in the face for half an hour, and I later saw that the cell leader’s face looked as if it had been smeared with red ink.

When some collaborators tried to gain favor with the guards by harassing Falun Dafa practitioners–following them everywhere, including to the toilet, tormenting them, and taking away their food and belongings–I signaled to other practitioners to send righteous thoughts to ensure they would receive retribution. On the same day or soon after, these collaborators would often be beaten or punished by the prison guards.

In the harsh and evil environment of the labor camp, it is crucial that we maintain righteous thoughts at all times, clearing every human notion consistently. Only by doing so can we strengthen our thoughts, allowing our supernormal abilities to be used.

If you always believe that, as a Dafa disciple, you are a divine being in the human world, then you will possess the abilities of a divine being. Everything we encounter is connected to our cultivation in the Fa-rectification.
