On this day, May 13, 2025, I am honored to extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Falun Dafa practitioners across Florida, the United States, and around the world as they celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong.

Falun Dafa is a traditional spiritual discipline rooted in ancient Chinese heritage. It is practiced by millions worldwide and is based on the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Through gentle exercises, meditation, and moral teachings, Falun Dafa has empowered individuals to improve their physical health, mental clarity, and inner peace. Since its introduction in Florida in 1996, countless residents have benefited from this self-improvement practice.

Falun Dafa practitioners in our state have made notable contributions to the health and well-being of our communities. From free exercise workshops to participation in cultural and health events, their service has helped foster harmony, resilience, and understanding among our diverse populations - especially during difficult times such as the recent pandemic.

I also recognize the peaceful and courageous efforts of Falun Dafa practitioners in standing up for human rights and religious freedom. Their decades-long resistance to persecution by the Chinese Communist Party serves as a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit and the enduring value of nonviolent advocacy. Their continued call for freedom of belief and expression reflects the very values we hold dear in this nation.

As a proud representative of the people of Florida, I join you in honoring the profound impact of Falun Dafa and commend your ongoing commitment to compassion, health, and truth. Naples, Florida: Mayor Proclaims Falun Dafa Day, Encourages Residents to Learn Falun Gong

On the eve of the 26th annual May 13 World Falun Dafa Day in 2025, Teresa Heitmann, Mayor of Naples, Florida, officially proclaimed May 13, 2025, as Falun Dafa Day in the City of Naples. She also encouraged all Naples residents to learn about Falun Gong and attend Falun Gong classes.

WHEREAS, Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a traditional Chinese self-improvement practice rooted in ancient culture that consists of gentle exercises and meditation, and is guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance; and

WHEREAS, since its introduction to the public in 1992, Falun Dafa has brought physical health, joy, and peace of mind to millions of people around the world, including many in the United States and in the Naples community; and

WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners in Naples and across the globe have helped to enhance their communities by participating in volunteerism, community events, and cultural activities, and by promoting the importance of spiritual growth and moral living; and

WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners’ peaceful resistance to persecution by the Chinese Communist Party is an inspiration to people who value human rights and freedom of belief; and

WHEREAS, May 13, 2025, marks the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public and the 26th World Falun Dafa Day, a day to honor the contributions Falun Dafa has made to the lives of people in Naples and around the world.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Teresa L. Heitmann, Mayor of the City of Naples, Florida, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2025 as Falun Dafa Day in Naples, Florida, and encourage all residents to learn more about Falun Dafa and its benefits to mind and body.
