Recognizing My Cunning Human Notions

(Minghui.org) After I retired from my regular job, I started my own business. I paid a factory owner a monthly fee to process my products. One month, I owed him 1,500 yuan, but he didn’t ask for the payment. In the next two months, he asked for the fees each month, but it seemed he forgot that I still owed him 1,500 yuan. I told myself, “He hasn’t asked me to pay. If he had, I would have paid him.”

I remembered a principle Master taught us:

“We say that when one does something wrong to another person, one must give quite a lot of de to the other party as compensation. Here, we usually refer to taking away things that belong to other people and so on.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)

So, I called the owner and offered to pay the fee he forgot to collect. I didn’t feel quite right afterward.

I asked myself, “Why repay money he didn’t even remember I owed?” After looking inward, I realized I was afraid of losing de, dropping in level, and not being able to reach consummation. I paid him to protect my own interests, not because I was being honest.

I wondered why I didn’t routinely consider the needs of others first. I wasn’t concerned about the time and effort he spent producing my things. Master teaches us to eliminate selfishness, which is the foundation of the old universe; however, I repaid the money in a way arranged by the old forces.

Digging deeper, I thought, I exercise every day to stay healthy, eat what I please, and enjoy my life; I send a lot of righteous thoughts to prevent the old forces from persecuting me; I hand out informational materials so that my future universe won’t be empty; I study the Fa to achieve consummation.

On the surface, I was diligently doing the three things, but I was doing them for selfish reasons. That is, I was following the path arranged by the old forces.

Here I am exposing all my notions to eradicate them. I want to change myself for the better. Also, when I paid the fee, I forgot to tell him I did this because I practice Falun Dafa. From now on, I will validate the Fa when I do things and assist others to learn the truth about Falun Dafa.
