My Thoughts on the Mass Arrests of Practitioners in Our Region

(Minghui.org) The illegal arrests of more than 70 practitioners in May 2024 caused enormous losses in our efforts to validate the Fa and save sentient beings in our area.

On the surface, the arrests were due to a practitioner’s phone being tapped by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police. Although most practitioners were released soon afterwards, a number of practitioners were framed by the CCP judicial authorities and are still detained. Local practitioners only started to look within when we heard that some practitioners needed us to bring them necessities in the detention center.

We asked ourselves if we should further let go of our human notions in order to eliminate the elements that interfered with us. Only when we elevate ourselves as one body will the evil disintegrate.

There could be many factors involved in the persecution of these practitioners. We realized that local practitioners, myself included, have a strong tendency to rely on others and idolize them.

Over the years, these incorrect notions led to behavior that disrupts the Fa, such as arranging for certain practitioners to give lectures based about their personal understanding. This resulted in multiple unlawful arrests, and many practitioners lost their lives as a result of persecution.

After one of the practitioners who gave lectures was released from jail, some local practitioners invited him to give lectures again. Not long after, several practitioners in the same Fa-study group were arrested and persecuted. Those who renounced Falun Dafa while in detention also suffered severe tribulations after they were released.

Around the New Year in 2024, two forums were organized in two locations in our local area. One was attended by more than 20 practitioners, and the other had more than 50 participants. The same person who gave Fa-disrupting speeches before was invited to speak at both forums, and he even sold incense during a forum.

Master warned us about this behavior,

“Whoever spreads among practitioners things unrelated to the Fa-rectification is interfering with Dafa disciples and damaging the form of Fa-rectification!” (Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference)

Apparently, practitioners who organized and attended the forums forgot that we should conduct ourselves according to the Fa, and instead gave in to their attachment to idolizing the practitioner who gave lectures. Even though some practitioners felt that certain things he said were not in line with the Fa, they did not point them out.

Not long afterwards, in May 2024, the CCP police launched the round of mass arrests that I mentioned, and everyone who attended these two forums was persecuted. The police even had a list of names when they carried out the arrests.

Sadly, another practitioner passed away during that round of persecution. This practitioner did the three things well over the years, and was always ready to help other practitioners. After he was arrested, instead of reflecting on our serious attachments to relying on and idolizing certain individuals, many of us thought about how this practitioner could help us after he was released.

Through Fa study, we realized that relying on and idolizing practitioners who do well in cultivation may cause them huge tribulations. It could very well be the case that the tribulations a particular practitioner suffered were not completely due to his own karma. The attachments of other practitioners surrounding him formed a wall, preventing him from breaking through his issues.

The strong tendency of relying on and idolizing certain practitioners, along with repeated Fa-disrupting lectures in our region, caused many painful lessons over the years. At the same time, people working in the police and judiciary systems incurred enormous karma in the persecution.

It’s high time for us to wake up and become clear-headed. To ensure that we walk our paths well during the time we still have, we must study the Fa well and always take the Fa as Teacher. We must stop looking outward, but look within and find answers in the Fa. This is being responsible not only for ourselves, but also for the cultivation environment of the whole body and for saving more sentient beings.
