(Minghui.org) Practitioners in southern Bulgaria held activities to inform people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa in China on April 5 and 6, 2025.

Practitioners raise awareness about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa in Burgas on April 5.

Practitioners set up display boards and banners at their booth in the Black Sea town of Burgas, adjacent to the Burgas Municipality and Liberty Square on April 5. They talked to passersby, distributed leaflets, and collected signatures on a petition to condemn the CCP’s human rights violations.

They also collected signatures on a petition which aims to protect Bulgarian citizens and institutions from becoming complicit in the crime of illegal organ transplants. Both petitions received warm support from the public, who criticized the CCP’s violence against Falun Dafa practitioners.

The day before the event, local media Black Sea Far (Lighthouse) reported on the Bulgarian Falun Dafa Association (BFDA) petition which condemns the CCP’s forced organ harvesting from living people.

Public Support

Two teenagers approached the booth. One of them, Philip, said he brought his friend, Slancho, to sign the petition to end the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa. He previously signed the petitions in Stara Zagora and came to the booth in Burgas when he saw practitioners.

Philip and Slancho previously applied for the Confucius Institute. But during an event in Stara Zagora a practitioner told Philip about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China and the role of the Confucius Institutes in promoting communist ideology outside China. The friends decided not to enroll in the Confucius Institute. They both said that the persecution of innocent people who want to live according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and their suffering strongly influenced their decision.

Many passersby stopped and read the practitioners’ displays. They did not need much persuasion and they readily signed the petitions.

Alexander and a teenager grasped the gist of the petition against the CCP’s brutal violence and supported it immediately after they read the materials. They signed the petitions.

Valya and Svetozar passed by the stand and read the information. They were intrigued by what they read and talked to practitioners. They said this was the first time they heard about the persecution and could not believe that in this day and age such violence could happen against innocent people.

Pavlin walked past the group of practitioners, visibly in a hurry, but said he couldn’t remain indifferent to the photos and information on the banners that revealed the CCP’s violence and atrocities. He walked over to the booth and, without waiting for further explanation, said, “I sign with both hands against communism!”

Bulgarian: We Cannot Accept This Violence

Two friends, Lubcho and Dimitar, listened to a practitioner’s account of the suffering that people in China endure because they strive to be good and truthful. They said it was the first time they heard about these human rights abuses and that as Christians they categorically reject such violence. “We can’t just pass this by and do nothing! If we can help, we’ll make it stop! As Christians, we cannot accept this violence as normal. It’s unacceptable!”

An elderly lady from Russia wanted to know what was going on. A practitioner who spoke Russian told her about the event and the CCP’s persecution.

Kalin said, “I sign everything that is anti-communist! I was once repressed by the communists, so I gladly sign the petition ‘End the CCP’ and I wish you success!”

Petition Drive in Yambol

Practitioners held an event in Yambol on April 6.

Practitioners held an event on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the central intersection between the Tundzha Hotel, the entrance to the central city park, and the old mineral bath. Despite the unusually cold weather and the biting cold wind, practitioners talked to passersby, handed out leaflets, and collected signatures.
