(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 6 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Hui Faces Trial

Mr. Li Hui was scheduled to appear in the Suxian District Court on April 3, 2025. Mr. Li was arrested by officers from Yongxing County Domestic Security Division at the end of October 2024. He is being held in Yongxing County Detention Center.

2. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Zheng Shuli Arrested

Practitioner Zheng Shuli, from Dongniuzhuang Village, Nanshu Town, was arrested by officers from Laixi City Police Department on March 20, 2025. Zheng is being held in Laixi City Detention Center.

3. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yao Hualan Detained

Ms. Yao Hualan and two other practitioners were summoned by Qingshui Town Police Station in February 2025, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Yao and one of the practitioners were arrested and taken to Guan County Police Department on March 27. While the other practitioner failed the physical examination and was released, Ms. Yao was held in custody at a lockup.

4. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Jia Lei Harassed

Mr. Jia Lei is from Xiaonanxinbao Town, Huailai County. He was ready to have dinner at about 7 p.m. on March 28, 2025, when eight police officers, only two in police uniform, broke in and asked him if he still practiced Falun Gong. They then took Mr. Jia to the Xiaonanxinbao Town Police Station and interrogated him. The officers also confiscated a desk calendar and a copy of Zhuan Falun.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Duan Huiqin Tortured While Serving a Three-Year Wrongful Term

Ms. Duan Huiqin from Dongli District was arrested by more than 20 police officers downstairs of her apartment building on the afternoon of September 8, 2019. Her home was ransacked and her personal belongings, including computers and printers, were confiscated. She was later sentenced to three years in prison.

While serving time in the detention center, Ms. Duan was force-fed toxic drugs, forced to stand for long periods of time, slapped in the face, beaten with shoe soles, and punched. She was not allowed to buy any daily necessities.

During the coldest phase in winter, she was deprived of sleep and food for 72 hours. She was pepper sprayed three times. Her clothes were thrown in the trash. She was not allowed to use the restroom. When she went to the restroom without permission, the inmates beat her and pushed her down. Her back hit the faucet, and the pain lasted for several months. Yet the inmates still forced her to clean the toilet and the prison cells every day.

Ms. Duan refused to sign paperwork on the day of her release. Guard Zhao Juanjuan grabbed her hand and forced her to fingerprint the paperwork. Upon returning home, she was devastated to find that the funds in her two bank accounts, one with more than 7,000 yuan and the other with more than 900 yuan, had been confiscated by the Hexi District Court to pay her court fine.
