(Minghui.org) My xinxing has improved recently through solidly cultivating myself in two small areas. Small problems are easier to ignore, but they are very important for cultivation. If we can improve in a timely manner, we can also avoid having the situation eventually lead to a catastrophe due to a long-term failure to improve our xinxing.
1. A Change in Attitude Toward My Son
I was hand copying the Fa in the living room one day. My son walked back and forth from his bedroom to the living room, which is his way of relaxing, and it annoyed me a little. I raised my hand to stop him. Before I said anything, while my hand was still in the air, I felt that something was wrong. My son was walking back and forth, which was him following his heart, and he might feel happy doing this. Isn’t it selfish for me to stop him so that I don’t get annoyed?
I put my hand down and thought to myself, “I have to calm down and not be affected by his walking.” A stream of heat spread out from the microscopic body to the surface body. I had been in a state of low-grade fever and had felt a little dizzy that day, but the stream of heat swept away that incorrect state. I knew that my xinxing, realm, and level had improved.
Why had such a small thing led to a great improvement in cultivation? The reason as I see it is that my son is very obedient and does whatever he is asked to do, and he doesn’t do things if he is not allowed. Therefore, for a long time, my wife and I have bossed our son about, telling him to do this and that, and not letting him do this and that. I hadn’t treated him as kindly as I have treated other sentient beings, and I took it for granted that I had infringed on my son’s interests.
I finally realized this and found this selfishness, which is really important for me to cultivate away as a cultivator! In the future, I am determined to cultivate myself solidly and completely change my attitude toward my son.
2. Waiting in Lines
The Minghui website recently published a special article “Our Master.” In the article, a practitioner shared a story of going to a buffet restaurant with Master. The practitioner was in a hurry to line up to get food, but found that Master was not in a hurry at all. Reading this, I remembered my behavior when I have to wait in lines. We have to line up in one of multiple rows when we have dinner at our company, and when we leave the company we have to queue up too. I’m always in a hurry and want to get through quickly. I sometimes try to observe which person is serving the rice quickly, and then stand in his row. When I get off work, I will try to figure out how to pick a line that is going faster than others, so that I can avoid queuing up outside for too long in the winter.
Reading about how Master had waited in line, and comparing that with my own style, I felt ashamed. How could I be so selfish when it comes to queuing up! I will definitely correct it in the future! As I thought about this, I felt that a bad substance had been removed from my body.
I’m glad that my xinxing has improved regarding these two issues. Although they seem to be small matters, it is my selfishness that has been removed.
