(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhao Yanhua’s family hasn’t received any update about her after her arrest on October 12, 2023, for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. They are asking any insiders to provide information about her case.
Ms. Zhao, a 44-year-old fire protection engineer in Beijing, was recorded by surveillance cameras while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong at around 5 p.m. on October 12, 2023. Officers from the Hujialou Police Station later arrested her and searched her office. Her family has been kept in the dark about her situation, and are very worried about her safety and well-being.
Ms. Zhao’s arrest came only one year after she finished serving another three-year term for her faith. She was previously arrested on November 15, 2019, also after being seen on surveillance cameras distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She appeared in the Shunyi District Court on September 16, 2020, and was sentenced to a three-year prison term with a 3,000-yuan fine. Her family wasn’t allowed to attend the trial.
