(Minghui.org) A 63-year-old resident of Jinan City, Shandong Province, was sentenced to three years for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Wang Cuiling was arrested on October 17, 2023, while talking to people about how Falun Gong cured her migraines, tracheitis, medical shock, and weakness. The plainclothes officer who had been shadowing her took pictures of her and raided her home after making the arrest. He also confiscated nearly one thousand yuan in cash.
According to an insider, the police started monitoring Ms. Wang after a man reported her for placing Falun Gong materials in his electric bike basket on October 7, 2023. Huangtai Police Station officers identified Ms. Wang after poring over the surveillance videos, and arrested her days later.
Ms. Wang stood trial at the Tianqiao District Court on December 10, 2024 and her family later received a notice that she had been sentenced to three years. The exact time of her sentencing is unclear. Her loved ones called the Jinan City Detention Center and were told that she had already been transferred to an unknown prison.
