How Dafa Practitioners Can Succeed in the Current Cosmic Climate

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa’s recent ordeals remind us of what Master said in 2003, “Before I came here I knew that the old forces would arrange all of this, and within the arrangement I chose what I wanted. But when it comes to a lot of fundamental things, the old forces aren’t able to change them. Even though things were set in that way, after the Fa-rectification began, the old forces still changed more than eighty percent of what was determined before history.” (Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003)

Our understanding is that the current escalation of the persecution of Dafa outside China was arranged by the old forces. It took place as planned, and every negative entity is participating in it. Many Falun Dafa practitioners are unaware and continue doing things as usual. Some have grown lax and don’t realize this is a test of how well we’ve cultivated and that people are being harmed.

The Grave Situation Written in the Stars

Some practitioners haven’t yet taken cultivation seriously or realized how grave the situation is, so we’d like to analyze it from another angle.

There are 28 Mansions (xiu) in the Chinese constellation system, and one of them is a ghost (specter). At the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, Mercury entered the ghost mansion on August 18, 1966. That day, Mao Zedong met with the Red Guards at Tiananmen Square for the first time. He announced his intent to destroy traditional values, which he called the Four Olds (old ideas, old culture, old customs, and old habits); abolish faith systems (Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity); and push chaos to the extreme. In the next decade, China’s economy, culture, and society nearly collapsed. Approximately 100 million people in China were targeted in political campaigns, and about 20 million people died.

On November 25, 2024, Mars entered the house of four stars in the ghost mansion, signaling a new disaster similar to the one at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution. That day, a woman surnamed Chang filed lawsuits against Master Li, Fei Tian, Fei Tian teachers, and Shen Yun. This reminded us of how, during the Cultural Revolution, students were instigated to attack and beat up their teachers.

Compared to Mercury, Mars’ entry into the ghost mansion portends a more serious disaster. According to Yi Si Zhan written by Li Chunfeng, a Tang Dynasty sage and prophet, Mar’s entry into the ghost mansion means the head of state (the current Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader) is advised by subordinates to do bad deeds, i.e. intensify the persecution of Falun Dafa. According to Yi Si Zhan, an epidemic may result, and indeed we have seen a wave of respiratory infections in China.

We Cannot Be Complacent Given the CCP’s Goals

Shortly after the 47th U.S. President was sworn in on January 20, 2025, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Elon Musk began looking into government spending. The staff discovered that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) had spent large sums of American taxpayers’ money to fund transgender programs, far-left causes, and even terrorist organizations.

In particular, USAID reportedly gave the Wuhan Institute of Virology $3.08 million to study novel coronaviruses, bringing the virus back to the laboratory from the bat caves in the mountains of Yunnan. COVID went on to cause millions of deaths during the worldwide pandemic. This infection route was discussed in the 2020 article series titled “A Holistic View: Are We Able to Prevent Another Disaster Like the Coronavirus Pandemic.”

The CCP wasted no time distorting the story and using it to smear America. By omitting the involvement of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, CCP media claimed that Musk had found that U.S. government-sponsored bioweapons research led to the spread of COVID. As a result, many Chinese inside the CCP’s firewall are convinced that the U.S. is responsible for the pandemic.

This type of disinformation is a common CCP tactic. After a century of developing and refining its propaganda techniques, the CCP has mastered its protocol of responding to major events by controlling domestic media while sometimes influencing overseas media to mislead the public.

Based on information obtained so far, the CCP has considered several scenarios for the outcome of these lawsuits against Falun Dafa and Shen Yun:

1) Minimal goal: If all the lawsuits fail, the CCP will continue publishing disinformation to mislead people. The regime has been doing this for decades to incite Chinese people to hate the U.S.

2) Low-level goal: The lawsuits’ claims fail, but a court orders compensation for the plaintiff. The CCP would take advantage of this outcome to fuel its propaganda. This scenario is possible because, with communism’s deep infiltration into the American legal system, some lawyers may take advantage of loopholes in the law and mislead the public.

3) Intermediate goal: if even one claim in the lawsuits succeeds, the CCP would use it to make a big fuss to discredit Falun Dafa. In the lawsuits against Donald Trump, some courts acquitted him, while others found him guilty. The CCP could use this situation to continue smearing Falun Dafa and deceiving people.

4) Highest goal: The CCP’s highest goal is to obtain criminal convictions and have Falun Dafa banned in the U.S. The latter isn’t possible due to freedom of belief guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, but CCP officials can use it to change people’s opinions of Falun Dafa and Shen Yun.

Regardless of the outcome, the CCP will use money and deception to carry out its agenda. By controlling and infiltrating overseas media outlets and social media channels on TikTok and YouTube, the CCP can continue pushing disinformation to the American public in a grassroots manner in order to sway public opinion.

Some Falun Dafa practitioners assume the CCP won’t achieve its highest goal and thus take the current situation lightly. But this mentality and inaction may create a loophole for those with ill intentions. In the battle between good and evil, all negative elements in this and other dimensions are being mobilized, and they are destroying people with lies and money. To some extent, how everyday people react is a reflection of Falun Dafa practitioners’ cultivation state. Practitioners must put in their full effort.

From history, we know those who are complacent or slack off are doomed to fail. If Dafa practitioners continue to fight among themselves and get taken advantage of by the evil, the CCP could take advantage and achieve a portion of its goals, leading to huge, unrecoverable losses for the Fa-rectification and saving people.

A Slap in the Face

The old forces arranged two major persecutions of righteous faiths—Jesus was put on trial two thousand years ago and then crucified; now, lawsuits have been filed against Master Li. The first persecution laid the groundwork for the second persecution.

During a conference on June 26, 1999, one month before the CCP began to persecute Falun Dafa, a student asked:

“Student: Master, please tell us, when Jesus was about to be crucified, what were all of his disciples doing? Master, please relay this to people around the world and in the heavens: We Dafa disciples will absolutely not allow such a thing to happen.

“Master: (Warm applause) Thank you! Cultivators should not be affected by human thoughts, as you are cultivators. I thank you all for your heartfelt feelings about Dafa and Master. I know them all.” (Teachings at the Midwestern U.S. Conference)

Even if the charges against Master Li are dropped, the CCP can use the lawsuit to continue defaming Dafa and deceiving people. In particular, many people in China may develop negative opinions of Dafa or Master as a result.

Practitioners know what Falun Dafa is. Master has sacrificed tremendously to save people, but now he is being sued. Some practitioners continue to do nothing instead of sending forth righteous thoughts to clear out the degenerated matter, rectifying their cultivation states, and doing what they are supposed to do. If these lawsuits go to trial, it would be a disgrace for American, Chinese, and Taiwanese people, and the old forces would be slapping Dafa practitioners in the face.

What We Should Work Toward and Lessons We Should Learn

Master said,

“But you often emphasize the results instead of fully explaining to them the facts that you should explain during that process. Only when all people know the truth that they should know are you really validating the Fa and clarifying the facts. Wherever a problem surfaces, go tell people the facts, and you shouldn’t be doing it just to push the lawsuit forward but to tell them the facts.”

“If during the process everyone comes to realize the truth and the world’s people are saved, and even those people have learned the consequences of being used and the evil nature of the ones that used them, and they’re willing to admit their wrongdoing, then I think it’s good even if we don’t pursue the lawsuit any further—it’s not that we have to punish them to some degree. If they come to realize their wrongdoing and make up for it, and the world’s people know about it, then that’s good enough.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference”, Collected Teachings Given Around the World, Volume III)

In our view, practitioners can secure victory in this battle of good versus evil by putting into action and validating the above passages of Dafa. We should continue sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the facts to the lawyers and other people involved in these cases. If most people are saved and the thirteen lawsuits are dropped, then the CCP wouldn’t have opportunities to fabricate lies, nor would it be able to muster the courage to continue interfering with Dafa in the U.S.

This would be the best scenario. But difficulties lie ahead--some that we can see and some that we do not yet know. Faced with these challenges, is our cultivation state good enough?

Instead of worrying about whether this can be accomplished, we should strive in this direction and remember what Master said in Zhuan Falun: “When it’s difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it’s impossible to do, you can do it.”

We need to familiarize ourselves with the legal system so we can clarify the facts to everyone so they can see the true nature of the CCP and know the importance of the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This is cultivating ourselves solidly and having righteous thoughts and righteous actions.

When the persecution started in July 1999, many practitioners went to Washington, D.C. to clarify the truth. Many of us were students or just out of school. How were we able to do this? If we have the heart to safeguard Dafa, we should be able to do it in more mature and effective ways today.

This battle of good versus evil is happening in America and requires Falun Dafa practitioners there to collaborate well and help each other to expose the persecution and clarify the truth. This will give America, China, and the rest of the world a bright future. This is also fulfilling our prehistoric vow.

How Can Practitioners in China Help?

In addition to sending forth righteous thoughts four times a day and including these lawsuits in their thoughts, many practitioners in China are sending righteous thoughts for an extra hour specifically targeting this situation.

Can we do more?

Master said,

“If humans didn’t take action when cosmic changes occurred, such situations would therefore not come about in ordinary human society, and neither could they be called cosmic changes.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)

Master also said,

“You cannot always rely on me to bring you up to a higher level while you, yourself do not move. Only after the Fa is explicitly stated do you make a move. If it is not taught clearly, you do not move, or move backward. I cannot recognize such behavior as cultivation practice.” (“Digging Out the Roots”, Essentials for Further Advancement)

If we cannot keep up with the momentum of Fa-rectification and the cosmic changes, the old forces will find excuses to persecute us. To oppose the old forces and this persecution, we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard.

The Fa-rectification is more important than any war in human history, since it is a battle of good versus evil that relates to the future of mankind. After the CCP began to persecute Dafa in 1999, many practitioners on the front lines of truth-clarification have put in their all because they know the weight of their mission and their vow.

Meanwhile, some practitioners in China are indulging themselves and seek a comfortable life. The time and energy they put into everyday life far outweighs what they spend on cultivation. How would divine beings look at you? Are you really on the side of Falun Dafa practitioners in this battle?

Practitioners outside of China on the front lines of project work have limited time and energy, and now they have to divert some to this battle. Support from practitioners in China is critical, especially considering that the source of the persecution is in Beijing. The evil forces continually send negative energy from Beijing to America, so practitioners in China need to do their best in sending righteous thoughts.

Just as Dafa practitioners put aside their human attachments and stepped up to counter the persecution when it first began, now is the time for every one of us to let go of the attachment to comfort, put more time and energy into the battle as our individual situations allow, and validate the Fa as particles of Dafa.

Master said,

“As you know, the persecution that Dafa disciples in mainland China suffer is quite severe, so each student has to truly, clearly realize what his responsibility is, and when he sends forth righteous thoughts he has to be able to truly calm his mind and truly produce the effect of righteous thoughts. So this is something extremely critical, extremely important. Then if every student is able to do that, I can tell you, with five minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts together, the evil in the Three Realms will never exist again—that’s how important this is.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.”, Collected Teachings Given Around the World, Volume II)

In our understanding, doing well ourselves is not enough; we also need to help other practitioners around us become diligent. In contrast to the situation 25 years ago, when we sometimes approached things with a combative mentality like everyday people, this time we should use strong compassion and righteous thoughts. As Falun Dafa practitioners, we should know why we’re here and what state we should be in.

With every practitioner’s pure heart and abilities, together we will be able to achieve our mission. What we can rely on is our firm faith, the Fa, the righteous thoughts and abilities of genuine practitioners, and the rationality and wisdom that come from Dafa.
