(Minghui.org) International Human Rights Day is observed on December 10, 2025, and Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners in Indonesia held two rallies in Jakarta, the capital city, and Surabaya, the capital city of East Java province to raise the public’s awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

Practitioners held a rally near the entrance gate of the National Monument, one of the main tourist spots in Jakarta, on December 13, 2025. They displayed banners which had messages calling for an end to the persecution. They re-enacted the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting in China, and distributed flyers that exposed the CCP’s ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa in China.

Practitioners’ spokesperson, Candra, said, “It has been over 26 years. So it is really time to end the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong in China, as well as CCP’s recent transnational repression and end the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting in China that targets Falun Gong practitioners.” He also called on the Indonesian government and the local, as well as international community to work together to stop these serious crimes against humanity.

Public Support for Practitioners’ Efforts

Some passersby received the information materials about Falun Gong and its persecution in China. One woman encouraged practitioners to continue their peaceful efforts to end the persecution and said, “Please keep on raising your voice!”

Dwi Harbowo, a police commissioner and deputy chief of the Gambir District Police Office, came to the practitioners’ booth and said the police officers on duty would provide security for practitioners’ activities.

While talking to a practitioner, a police officer on duty agreed that communism is a real threat to world peace and he expressed his personal concern about CCP’s claim of extensive maritime rights in the waters near Indonesia’s Natuna Island.

Rally in Front of the Chinese Consulate in Surabaya

On December 12, 2025, Falun Gong practitioners in Surabaya City, the capital of East Java Province, held a rally in front of the Chinese consulate in Surabaya. Besides holding banners which had information about the persecution, practitioners also distributed flyers and spoke to passersby.

The activity was held near a bus stop. A man carefully observed practitioners practicing together and quietly followed the exercise movements. When a practitioner approached him, he asked if practitioners gather for the exercises there every Friday.

The practitioner explained that this was not a practice site—they were holding a peaceful rally to oppose the persecution of Falun Gong in China, while pointing to the consulate office across the street. The practitioner told him where the local practice sites were so he could continue learning the exercises.

December 10, 2025 marks the 77th anniversary since the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.

Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) is a meditation system based on five sets of exercises and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The CCP began persecuting the practice in July 1999. This is a continuation of the CCP’s decades-long suppression of basic human rights, freedom of belief, and freedom of speech.
