(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution of the practice in 1999, my family members (who are also practitioners) and I were stunned and found it hard to believe how brutally practitioners were being tortured as shown on TV. I continued practicing for three main reasons. First, it was free of charge. Second, Master Li’s teachings were complete without any contradictions. And third, I experienced positive changes both physically and spiritually. Over time, it became clear that my decision to practice was the right one.
I have thus spent my spare time diligently studying the Fa, doing the exercises, and sending forth righteous thoughts. I have worked for New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) Asia Branch for the past 13 years, serving in business sales for over 11 years. Like many Dafa practitioners, I have consistently validated the Fa and clarified the truth to people.
Taking Up Business Sales to Continue Clarifying the Truth
Media serves as a powerful tool for practitioners who seek to clarify the truth and save sentient beings, with the sales team playing a crucial role.
Just as Master said:
“The great heavenly circuit opens up hundreds of energy channels all at once.” (Lecture Eight, Zhuan Falun)
My understanding from this is that the sales team is connected to all the departments in the organization.
Being a salesperson is a privilege. If challenges arise, one should look inward. When I faced a client and was unable to close a contract despite my best efforts, I looked inward for the reasons that prevented me from achieving my goal of saving him.
Master said:
“On the surface it appears that we are fighting a lonely battle. This would mean that each of us needs to make sure we keep ourselves in good shape, and do a bit better in terms of our own cultivation and the standards we hold ourselves to, or it will be hard for us to accomplish our task.” (2018 NTD and Epoch Times Fa Conference, Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XV)
A salesman’s job can be a lonely journey, often unrecognized until significant achievements are delivered. Yet I value the journey over the rewards, as my mission is to save people, and my ultimate goal is to achieve consummation.
Memorizing the Fa To Improve
At the cultivation experience-sharing conference in August 2024, a colleague from my department invited practitioners to join their Fa study group and recite to the group the Fa they had memorized. Each practitioner could choose content appropriate to their own cultivation level and enlightenment. Inspired by this idea, I decided to begin memorizing the Fa myself.
Over the past year, I have memorized the entire book Zhuan Falun, along with several passages from the Essentials for Further Advancement and new scriptures. My xinxing has improved, professional skills have been enhanced, and my relationship at home has become more harmonious.
Like everyone, when I memorize the Fa on my own I see human notions and attachments that are usually difficult to detect. When I encountered difficulties while reciting the Fa aloud, I could quickly realize that these obstacles highlighted areas where I needed to improve in xinxing. For example, I once believed that striving to achieve more, and do so quickly, was a sign of my ability. However, fellow practitioners pointed out my attachment of competitiveness. Superficially, this ability was from me, but in reality, it stemmed from my family background.
Memorizing the Fa helped me reflect on whether my pursuit of improvement was truly to immerse myself in the Fa. Striving for excellence is not wrong, but it becomes misguided if driven by a preoccupied “do-good-thing” mentality, rather than a genuine dedication to the Fa.
Memorizing the Fa also helped me discover new principles within it. Each day after memorizing, my mind felt clearer. I cherished this opportunity and made no excuses to skip it. With a daily online limit of ten minutes, I planned carefully and made the most of my time to understand and memorize the Fa.
On May 13, World Falun Dafa Day, I noticed that I could memorize the Fa much faster. It took me only three minutes, which was half the time I would normally take to finish. It seemed that I traveled to another dimension. I felt that compassionate Master was encouraging me.
To get my husband involved, I asked him to listen before I recited the Fa to fellow practitioners. He readily agreed, saying that he would be happy to help me “polish a rough draft.” He often listened quietly and then pointed out any mistakes. He calmly absorbed the Fa and benefited from it.
Eliminating Karma
Many years ago, I suddenly noticed a bump as big as a mung bean on my wrist. Although it hasn’t grown bigger since then, I have experienced pain most days, sometimes sharp as if being bitten, gnawed, pinched, or even cut with a knife.
When I began memorizing the Fa last year, the discomfort intensified and sometimes affected my mood. As my cultivation improved, I realized that these symptoms might be part of the karma elimination process. Thus, I did not try to alleviate it. Instead, I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate any interference.
NTDTV came under intense attack by the old forces in June 2024. At that time, I was also in a state of karma elimination and unable to cross my legs while doing the meditation. After I started memorizing the Fa in August, the interference increased. The overall environment grew more stressful and my business development was negatively impacted. I diligently started memorizing Master’s new scriptures. Through persistent cultivation, I noticed that every effort led to further improvement. Gradually, my mind became calmer and more stabilized.
Proactively Reaching Out To Predestinated Clients
Although the business did not show much progress during the first quarter of this year, I continued to memorize the Fa and adjust my mindset. I then realized that I needed to reach out to influential people more proactively, so I stopped worrying about short-term gains and started focusing on clients’ needs to develop a business strategy.
At the final stage of the Fa-rectification, more people are waiting to be saved. Therefore, I remained committed to proactively reaching out, and refused to lower my standards just to gain business. I hoped our clients could truly understand our philosophy and work together with us. This approach demanded mindfulness and perseverance. My persistence allowed me to maintain a steady mindset even when confronted with indifference or inaction.
During a meeting in the second quarter, I connected with a colleague from The Epoch Times. Recognizing that both organizations shared the mission of helping others, we discussed and identified target clients together after the meeting. My colleague later secured a promising lead. To ensure our presentation was as effective as possible, I thoroughly researched the client and shared my insights with my colleague. I valued his input and incorporated his suggestions into the video presentation. The client responded positively, and NTDTV successfully finalized a contract within six weeks.
This achievement, while seemingly accidental, was a showcase of wisdom gained from constant cultivation. It proves that different media can collaborate as long as they share the same goals.
Several videos we produced later for this client received rave reviews at this year’s National Defense and Aerospace Exhibition, further enhancing NTDTV’s reputation. During a business visit, the client greeted me from afar. My colleague also praised me for doing a great job. The colleague also showed his gratitude to me, even though we had some conflicts.
Fulfilling My Mission at All Times
It has been over a year since I began memorizing the Fa. One day on my way home from Kaohsiung, I sat next to a woman on the Taiwan High-Speed Rail train. A sudden thought occurred to me: Perhaps this woman was predestined. Although I had intended to spend the two-hour journey memorizing the Fa, I realized it was more crucial to share the Fa with her. So I initiated a conversation with her.
I introduced her to Falun Gong and NTDTV, explaining where she could purchase Dafa books, and encouraging her to watch the Shen Yun performance. She listened with genuine interest, smiling, nodding, and carefully writing down the bookstore’s address. Our conversation concluded as the train reached my stop.
Through this experience, I realized that memorizing the Fa is not simply about remembering and reciting its words; it is fundamentally about continuously fulfilling our mission to save people.
