(Minghui.org) During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Shen Yun dancers and student performers showcased classical Chinese dance techniques at the Shen Yun Performing Arts headquarters in New York. A recording of this special event will premiere exclusively on Gan Jing World on Saturday, November 15, at 8 p.m. (EDT).

The artists showcased the lost techniques of “shen-dai-shou” (the body leads the hands) and “kua-dai-tui” (the hips lead the legs), which achieve the highest level of artistic expression. These techniques were taught by Shen Yun’s artistic director, Mr. D.F.

These techniques elongate a dancer’s movements and poses. Through these methods, dancers attain not only greater range, but also grander aura, more expressiveness, and smoother, more flowing execution. They gain even greater strength, speed, and momentum in their jumps, spins, flips, and other technical moves.

Along with the classical Chinese dance component of “shen-fa” (movements and postures), these special techniques allow the dancers to radiate vitality, spirit, fluidity, and precision in their performance. Even the most challenging leaps, twirls, and flips are executed with effortless grace and stability, harmonizing strength and beauty with the music and rhythm.
