(Minghui.org) Members of the European Tian Guo Marching Band held a cultivation experience sharing conference at the Top Hotel Praha in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, on October 12, 2025. The day before, the 11th, they held a parade in Prague, and many media outlets covered the event.
All the members of the Tian Guo Marching Band practice Falun Dafa. Practitioners in many places around the world have formed similar bands. Members of the European Tian Guo Marching Band come from 12 countries in Europe and work in different occupations. They come together due to a common faith, Falun Dafa, and their passion for music. They show the beauty of the spiritual practice through music and use it to tell people about Falun Dafa and the ongoing persecution in China.

The European Tian Guo Marching Band cultivation experience sharing conference was held at the Top Hotel Praha in Prague on October 12.
Two members of the band were the MCs for the conference. In their opening remarks, they said, “As members of the Tian Guo marching band, we validate the Fa and save sentient beings through music. We constantly cultivate ourselves in the process, let go of attachments, improve our character, work together, and form one body.”
Eliminating the Attachment to Relying on Others
Thanh Tran-Minh, a trumpet player, is from the Czech Republic. He said he’d observed that his reliance on others affected his progress in cultivation. He said, “I’d always regarded myself as a newcomer, so I didn’t work as hard as veteran members. For instance, I did not memorize the conductor’s gestures and I did not want to. I thought I could rely on others or count on someone calling out the title of the song after the conductor made a gesture. Now, looking back, my behavior was ridiculous.
“This year, I asked a new band member if he understood the conductor’s hand gestures. He turned on his mobile phone and sent me the link to lessons. I discovered it was not difficult at all and I was able to remember everything. I no longer relied on others and took the initiative to prepare for performances and play every note well. I rehearsed once before a parade and I was able to remember things.”
Eliminating Resentment
Felix Hermans from the Netherlands plays the saxophone and has been a band coordinator for many years. He talked about how he changed his notions and let go of his resentment.
When he started to have illness symptoms, he realized it could be due to negative thoughts.
He said, “After I had some warning signs, I had a strong desire to change my mentality, get rid of resentment and my bad thoughts. When I had this wish, I understood my resentment and negative thoughts were not the real me. I repelled them with strong righteous thoughts.
“Now when I start to have bad thoughts about someone or certain things, I’m able to see it clearly, remind myself, and use strong righteous thoughts to get rid of them. Now, every time I detect such thoughts, I am alerted to them and am able to control myself.”
For a long time, he resented others due to his pursuit of fame and gain and because he was calculating. This became a habit, but it was not his true nature. He now has a clear understanding and tries to have a positive attitude about everyone.
Master Is Right Beside Me
Wang Yue, who lives in Germany and plays the tuba, said he senses Master is always beside him watching over him. On his way back after attending a performance, the flight was overbooked, and he couldn’t get on the plane home to Frankfurt. He was upset and talked to an airline employee who got him a different flight at no extra cost. The airline initially suggested he fly from Zurich to Vienna, but he asked if there were direct flights to Frankfurt. Luckily, there was a seat.
“In the end, I took a direct flight back to Frankfurt and returned home over 10 hours earlier. I was alone and felt helpless at first, but, miraculously, things turned around and I was able to fly directly home. I was very grateful. I truly felt that Master was right beside me.
“A friend once asked me: ‘Why do you practice Falun Dafa?’ My most sincere reply from the bottom of my heart was: ‘Because I have Master!’”
Learning to Let Go of Self
Maya Marinova from Spain who plays the flute shared how she overcame the difficulty she had memorizing musical scores and learned to better cooperate with others. At first, she was angry when others made mistakes. By looking within, she changed her thinking.
“I realized my attitude was wrong. From then on, before every parade, I recited ‘On Dafa.’ If I discovered someone made a mistake, I pointed it out but I no longer focused on people’s mistakes.”
Borna Lušić from Croatia who plays the tenor saxophone said he’d wanted to “stand out” and show off. This kept him from seeing his true role in the band. By reflecting on how he could improve in cultivation, he discovered his role is to complement other instruments.
Borna Lušić from Croatia said he learned to eliminate his ego.
He said, “In my second year participating in parades, I began to change my thinking. As I became less selfish, I recognized that the true purpose of my instrument is to harmoniously highlight other instruments. It never has a solo part, because its main purpose is to let the other instruments, such as the woodwinds and brass, sound more complete and soothing. After I accepted this role, I began to play more softly and I became more compatible with others.”
In closing the conference, one MC said, “Once again, through this conference, we can sense how sacred Dafa cultivation is and the power of sharing experiences as a group. Every sharing is like a mirror, not only reflecting areas we need to improve on, but also encouraging us to make breakthroughs ourselves. Let us find the heart we once had when we first began practicing, continue to practice diligently, make progress, and walk well on our paths with firm conviction.”
