Mr. Wang Duoyu, a retired employee of the Nanchang City Food Bureau in Jiangxi Province, passed away on March 16, 2015. He was 74. He wasn’t the only person in his family who died in the persecution of Falun Gong. His son, Mr. Wang Xin, died in custody from forced-feeding on July 2, 2001, at the age of 28.
Mr. Wang Duoyu went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in 2000. He was arrested and held at the Nanchang City Second Detention Center for over a month. The police raided his home a few times after releasing him.
Mr. Wang was arrested again in November 2000 and held at the Jiaoqu Detention Center.
His next arrest was on May 7, 2008. After he was released, the police arranged people to stay outside of his home to monitor him around the clock.
Mr. Wang was arrested one more time in October 2014, for putting up Falun Gong posters. His home was ransacked and his Falun Gong books, portrait of Falun Gong’s founder, and a computer were confiscated.
Succumbing to the mental pressure from the persecution, Mr. Wang died on March 16, 2015.
