Additional Persecution News from China – January 17, 2025 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Min Xiangxian Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

6. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Lei Baoju Sentenced to Two Years with a Three-Year Probation
7. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Lianying Arrested
8. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shaoli Arrested
9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Quan Detained
10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Caixia’s Home Ransacked
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Su Yan Secretly Sentenced to One and a Half Years
12. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Yuzhen Harassed

1. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Min Xiangxian Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Min Xiangxian was arrested on June 1, 2024. It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that she was sentenced to two years and was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison.

2. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial

Ms. Ou Xuehui, Ms. Yao Zuming, and Ms. Zhou Xulin were scheduled to stand trial in the Xishan District Court on the morning of January 26, 2025.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Baoling Facing Trial

Ms. Zhang Baoling, 60, from the Fengtai District was arrested in February 2024 for posting informational materials about Falun Gong. Her case was submitted to the Fengtai District Procuratorate in July 2024 and to the Fengtai District Court in November 2024. She was scheduled to be tried on January 20, 2025.

4. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Case Against Ms. Hu Jinling Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Hu Jinling was arrested on November 19, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released on a one-year bail on January 4, 2024. The Tangshan County Domestic Security Division submitted her case to the Tangshan County Procuratorate on January 2, 2025.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Deng Weijian Arrested

Mr. Deng Weijian from the Qingbaijiang District was arrested while visiting his family in Mianyang City in the same province on December 12 or 13, 2024. It is unknown where he is detained.

6. [Dangshan County, Anhui Province] Lei Baoju Sentenced to Two Years with a Three-Year Probation

Lei Baoju was arrested at home on August 18, 2023. The police confiscated a dozen printers, a computer, Falun Gong books, and informational materials about Falun Gong. Lei was taken to a brainwashing center and pressured to write a statement to renounce Falun Gong. Lei was sentenced to two years with a three-year probation by the Dangshan County Court in November 2024.

7. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Lianying Arrested

Ms. Zhao Lianying from the Shuangjingzi District was arrested at home in December 2024 by several officers from the Chengjiao Police Station. She was taken to the police station to be interrogated and later taken to the hospital for a physical exam. Even though her systolic blood pressure was over 200 mmHg (normal is 120 mmHg or lower), the police still took her to the Yushu City Lockup and took photos of her. She was released around midnight.

8. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shaoli Arrested

Ms. Xu Shaoli was arrested at home on the afternoon of December 19, 2024. She was held in the Weifang City Detention Center and released on January 17, 2025.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Quan Detained

Ms. Jiang Quan is being held in the Wuhan City First Detention Center.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Geng Caixia’s Home Ransacked

Nanfan Police Station officers broke into Ms. Geng Gaixia’s home at noon on January 15, 2025, and ransacked it.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Su Yan Secretly Sentenced to One and a Half Years

Ms. Su Yan was secretly sentenced to one and a half years in prison in November 2024. She was taken to a prison on January 10, 2025.

12. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Yuzhen Harassed

Ms. He Yuzhen from Tuzhu Town in the Shizhong District was harassed at home on the afternoon of December 18, 2024, by several people from the township 610 Office, local police, and residential community. Her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and a computer were confiscated.
