Akinobu Umezawa, a management-level officer for Japan’s national defense, saw Shen Yun in Saitama on January 14.
“I began crying the moment the curtain opened,” Mr. Umezawa said.
“A masterpiece, touching. There are not so many awe-filled moments in life, but I was in awe today. How many tens of thousands of rehearsals have these performers gone through? Shen Yun is definitely a must-see performance. In a word, it’s wonderful. I’m so fortunate that I came to see the show today. I’m filled with gratitude,” he said.
“A Very Noble Experience”

“Over the past five thousand years, although China has experienced many wars and dynasty changes, these traditional cultures have still been preserved by artists. This is the power of culture,” Mr. Fukuhara said.
Ms. Fukuhara said that the Shen Yun performance “made me feel that I should all the more so cherish the heart of praying to the divine. It was a very noble experience.”

“I cried at the beginning. I was so moved,” said Ms. Nishide.
“It was truly wonderful to see performers who devote themselves to their work every day on stage, and to see their daily efforts blossom on the stage,” she said.
“Very Helpful for Me”

Ms. Miyazawa commented on the synchronization of the performers. “To achieve this, the performers must have perfect cooperation on a spiritual level,” she said.
“The performers have undoubtedly undergone intense training. However, with so many performers, along with the live orchestra, only when everyone is connected mentally and trusts each other can they perform together with common beliefs and toward common goals and higher standards of performance.
“It is the spiritual factor that contributes to the success of the performance. This is also very helpful for me in solving problems at work,” she said.
“Everything Was So Complete”

“The timing of the show was great, as well as the music. There were no lines spoken because everything was so complete,” said Mr. Yamanaka.
“They only dance. And just like that, they expressed themselves only through dance. And we were amazed that we could understand what was going on. I think it is the power of the performance,” he said.

Renowned actor Tadashi Yokouchi saw Shen Yun in Shibuya on January 18.
“China has such a rich traditional culture, and the power of tradition is awe-inspiring. Even though we are of different ethnic backgrounds, we can resonate with each other without any barriers,” said Mr. Yokouchi.
“I can feel the connection between the divine and humans in [the performance]. The concept of returning to Heaven became more real in my heart. Therefore, I cherish life more and treat life with a pure attitude,” he said.
