(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Dang Fengxia and Ms. Han Yumei Detained
Ms. Dang Fengxia lives in Hebeizhuang Village, Xitiangezhuang Township, Miyun District. She was arrested by Xitiangezhuang Township Police Station officers after 6 p.m. on August 20, 2024. It is not clear where she is detained.
Ms. Han Yumei of Xitiangezhuang Township was arrested by officers from the same police station August 5, 2024. Details about her arrest are unknown.
2. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Detained
Ms. Wang Yanhua, 72, was arrested at home on the evening of August 14, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Her computer, printer, Falun Gong printouts, and other items were confiscated. She is being held in the Gongzhuling City Detention Center.
3. [Changqing County, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ji’e Detained
Ms. Li Ji’e, around 80, who lives in Xinli Village, was arrested at home by Ping’an Town Police Station officers on the morning of August 7, 2024. They confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a box of Falun Gong books, and other items. Her family has received a notice of her arrest from the police. She is being held in the Ji’nan Detention Center.
4. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lu Cuirong Detained
Ms. Lu Cuirong was arrested at home by three officers from Huangshigang District Police Station around 9 a.m. on August 21, 2024, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. They ransacked her home, seized her Falun Gong books, and took her to the police station. She was put in the Huangshi City Lockup that night.
5. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Rui Sentenced
Ms. Wang Rui was arrested by Nong’an County Domestic Security Division officers in March 2024. She was recently sentenced to one year in prison.
6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yonghua Imprisoned
Ms. Wang Yonghua from Qinhuangdao City was transferred from Tianjin’s Binhai District Detention Center to Tianjin Women’s Prison on August 14, 2024. She is being held in the Sixth Ward.
She was arrested at her son’s home in Tianjin by Binhai District’s Nanhai Road Police Station officers on July 5, 2023. She was admitted to the Binhai District First Detention Center the same day and later transferred to the newly-established Binhai Detention Center. She was sentenced to three-and-a-half-years in prison.
7. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Su Hualian Arrested
Su Hualian, gender unknown, was arrested around July 1, 2024. Details about Su’s case are unknown.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Huilin Abused in Prison
Ms. Wang Huilin was admitted to Hebei Province Women’s Prison on May 7, 2024. Since then, she has not been allowed to make any phone calls or receive cash deposits from her family. She is unable to buy any daily necessities, including toiletries or extra food—the prison does not feed the inmates enough.
Devastated, her husband had another episode of cerebral thrombosis. He has been hospitalized, but there is no one to care for him, because his elder daughter is a full-time teacher and his younger daughter is a Buddhist nun and lives in a temple. [In China, the majority of hospitalized patients are cared for by their family members.]
9. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Zhiwei Detained
Mr. Wang Zhiwei was stalked and arrested in March 2024 by officers from the Yuanjiang City Police Department after someone reported him for distributing Falun Gong flyers. He was interrogated for several hours and released. Yuanjiang City Police Department officers arrested him again several months later on August 27, 2024. His home was ransacked. He is being held at an undisclosed location in Yiyang City.
10. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Li Ruihua Arrested and Ms. Guo Caiping Harassed
Ms. Li Ruihua, around 70, was arrested by officers from Zhenyuan County Domestic Security Division and Chengguan Police Station on August 21, 2024, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Zhenyuan County. Her home was ransacked.
Around the same time, the police ransacked the home of Ms. Guo Caiping of Zhenyuan County.
