(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 4 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Xiyu City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Zhong Xianwen Detained
2. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Zhenquan Harassed
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Shangzhu Released from Prison
4. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Quanmei Arrested
1. [Xiyu City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Zhong Xianwen Detained
Mr. Zhong Xianwen distributed Falun Gong flyers which was recorded by surveillance cameras. He was arrested at home by Yushui Police Department officers on July 15, 2024. His Falun Gong books were confiscated. His current whereabouts are unknown.
2. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Zhenquan Harassed
Mr. Qin Zhenquan, 61, lives in Manzhuang Town, Daiyue District. He was harassed in his apartment by three officers from the Manzhuang Town Police Station on July 26, 2024. They searched and took pictures of his residence.
3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Shangzhu Released from Prison
Mr. Liu Shangzhu is a resident of Jiayanzhuang Village, Woluogu Town, Yutian County. He completed his prison term and was released on July 11, 2024.
He was arrested on May 12, 2021, and sentenced to three years and two months with an 8,000 yuan fine.
4. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Quanmei Arrested
Ms. Yang Quanmei, a resident of Manzhuang Town, was arrested by Manzhuang Town Police Station officers at noon on July 30, 2024, when she was distributing Falun Gong flyers in a farmers’ market. She refused to have the police collect her blood sample or sign the case documents. The police confiscated her electric bike and demanded her to pay 1,000 yuan. She was released on the same day. The police threatened to detain her if she didn’t pay the 1,000 yuan.
