(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Tingxiang Sentenced to One Year in Prison
2. [Ju’nan County, Shandong Province] Case Against Ms. Mao Dejun Submitted to Court
3. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yang Lijun Arrested and Detained
4. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Guojun’s Appeal Denied by Intermediate Court
5. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Ruilan Arrested
6. [Leizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Meiyu Intercepted in International Airport
7. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Chaozhu Arrested
8. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tan Fang Arrested
1. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Tingxiang Sentenced to One Year in Prison
Ms. Xu Tingxiang was sentenced to one year in prison in December 2023. She is currently detained in the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. Prior to her sentencing, she was detained for one month in the Luobei County Detention Center in September 2022.
2. [Ju’nan County, Shandong Province] Case Against Ms. Mao Dejun Submitted to Court
Ms. Mao Dejun from Shizilu Town is facing trial after the Linshu County Procuratorate submitted her case to the Linshu County Court on June 17, 2024.
3. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yang Lijun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Yang Lijun from Dapu County was arrested on April 18, 2024. Her arrest has been approved.
4. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Guojun’s Appeal Denied by Intermediate Court
Ms. Deng Guojun was sentenced to one year by the Gaoping District Court in January 2024. She appealed with the Nanchong Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict on May 13, 2024.
5. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Ruilan Arrested
Ms. Xie Ruilan was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Sanshui Town Market and was arrested by Qing Sanjiang and other officers from the Sanshui Police Station on the morning of June 25, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. She was released in the afternoon.
6. [Leizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Meiyu Intercepted in International Airport
After Ms. Chen Meiyu’s daughter, who lives in the U.S., gave birth to a boy in September 2023, and invited her mother to visit her. Ms. Chen’s Visa was approved in May 2024 and she booked the flight on June 11, 2024. When she was about to board the flight at the Guangzhou International Airport, the 71-year-old woman was stopped by the police, who said that she was not allowed to leave the county because of her practicing Falun Gong. Her daughter called the police several times, but no one ever answered the phone.
7. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Chaozhu Arrested
Ms. Chen Chaozhu was arrested when working in the field on May 29, 2024. Her home was ransacked. She was released later that day.
8. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tan Fang Arrested
Ms. Tan Fang’s home was ransacked by six officers from the local police station and community office on June 18, 2024. Her Falun Gong books and lectures were confiscated. She was taken to the police department and released in the evening.
