(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 35 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Detained
Mr. Guo Changyu and four others whose names are unknown, all from Shancheng Town, were arrested on July 22, 2024. They are being held in the Meihekou City Detention Center.
2. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Su Jingwen Arrested
Ms. Su Jingwen was arrested at home by eight officers from the Yuelu District Police Department on the evening of July 22, 2024. The officers seized over 20 Falun Gong books, over 100 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on the bills, a laptop, two paper cutters, and two cell phones.
Her daughter, who is a primary school student, was taken to the police department, too. She was released around midnight.
3. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Luo Suling Arrested
Ms. Luo Suling of Meizhou City is in her 60s. On her way to Zhuhai City in the same province on July 18, 2024, she was arrested by Huizhou Police Station officers at a high-speed rail checkpoint because she had paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on the bills. The police ransacked her home three times. She is being held in a detention facility in Huizhou City.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Kong Fanzhen Arrested
Ms. Kong Fanzhen was arrested at home by seven plainclothes officers in July 2024. She was handcuffed and taken to a police station. The officers seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and several Falun Gong books. She was detained for 12 hours and released at night.
5. [Longjing City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cai Yuhong and Ms. Jiang Xiuqin Detained
Ms. Cai Yuhong, 55, and Ms. Jiang Xiuqin, 59, were stalked and arrested on the morning of April 28, 2024. More than ten officers ransacked their homes and seized pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books and printouts. His nephew, Wang Weidong, was taken away, interrogated, and detained for eight hours before he was released.
The practitioners are now in the Yanji City Detention Center and being denied family visits.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Shi Zhipei from the Jiutai District was arrested in front of her apartment building on July 18, 2024. The officers ransacked her home and are detaining her.
Mr. Bai Mingxu from the Jiutai District was transferred from the Xinglongshan Detention Center to Gongzhuling Prison in May 2024. It’s not clear when he was sentenced or how long his prison term is.
Mr. Wang Guozhan also from the Jiutai District was sentenced to four years in prison and has been admitted to the Jilin Prison.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Yuhong Under 24-Hour Surveillance
Ms. Wang Yuhong lives in the Jiulong Garden Residential District. During the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China July 15-20, the security personnel in her neighborhood stayed in front of her apartment building 24 hours a day to monitor her.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Fengxiang and Wang Weiming Detained
Ms. Wang Fengxiang from the Miyun District was arrested on April 18, 2024, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Her home was ransacked. She was detained for five days.
Mr. Wang Weiming is a resident of Xia Village, Shilou Town in the Fangshan District. He was arrested by Fangshan Court officers on the evening of July 14, 2024. His whereabouts are unknown.
9. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yuan Jinglian Sentenced
Ms. Yuan Jinglian was arrested by the Nongan Domestic Security officers on April 7, 2024. Her husband was recently notified that she had been sentenced to a prison term of three-and-a-half-years by the Dehui Court.
10. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Shurong Arrested
Mr. Liu Shurong, an 80-year-old Dazhu District resident, was arrested on June 21, 2024. His whereabouts are unknown.
11. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Lyu Ling Detained
Ms. Lyu Ling of Lingwu City, 59, was arrested by Lingwu City Police Department officers on July 5, 2024. She was given 15 days of administrative detention in the Yinchuan City Detention Center. She is on a hunger strike to protest her arrest.
12. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Practitioners Arrested and Detained
At least 15 practitioners in Yongxing County, including Cao Yanfang and Cao Tianjing, were arrested on July 20, 2024, in a county-wide police sweep led by Yongxing County Domestic Security Division. The officers seized the practitioners’ Falun Gong books and printouts. Li Quane, Liu Jinhua, Li Guifeng, and others are being held in the Yongxing Detention Center.
13. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Facing Indictment
Ms. Meng Chunying, Mr. Wang Zhoushan, Ms. Wang Guiling, Ms. Liu Yurong, and Ms. Liu Jingju were arrested in April 2024. The Taihe Domestic Security Division has submitted their cases to the procuratorate.
Two more practitioners, Ms. Zhang Yaming and Mr. Sun Jian, are also facing indictment after the Zijing Police Station officers submitted their case to the Linghai City Procuratorate.
14. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ji Hongli Abused in Prison
Mr. Ji Hongli of Xiaobeihe Town was put into second sub-ward of the fifth ward of Dalian City Prison on June 4, 2024. He was held in a brainwashing session and ordered to renounce Falun Gong. He was also subjected to repeated verbal abuse and beating. The guards also forced him to stand for long hours for not tidying up his bedding or not marching correctly in a squad formation.
15. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Yingxia Harassed
Ms. Zhang Yingxia’s home was ransacked by officers from the Tianding Police Station on July 21, 2024. Her Falun Gong books and personal items were confiscated. The officers tried to force her to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. She refused.
16. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zeng Xiaoping Harassed
Ms. Zeng Xiaoping lives in the Dianlixincun Residential District. She was harassed at home by six plainclothes officers from the Huizhou Police Department on the morning of July 18, 2024. They ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a printer, flashdrives, a media player, and other items. She was forced to pay 1,000 yuan for the bail.
17. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Hongli Detained
Ms. Zhang Hongli was arrested at home by Jianxi District Police Department officers on April 15, 2024, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. The officers seized two copies of Zhuan Falun. She was detained for 15 days.
