(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
2. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Yao Zuming Arrested and Detained

4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Jin Yijun to be Released Soon, After Serving Three Years
5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Guofen Arrested and Detained
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Detained
7. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Faces Prison Sentence
8. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liao Zhijun Arrested and Detained
9. [Ruian City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fan Meihong and Ms. Chen Hemei Persecuted
10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Wenqin Arrested
1. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
Nine practitioners were recently arrested, including Ms. Yang Guiqiu and her husband Mr. Su Xiaohong, who were arrested by officers from the Dalama Police Station on August 14, 2024. Ms. Wang Lihua and Ms. Chen Hong were arrested by officers from the Damintun Police Station. The situation of the remaining practitioners is unknown.
2. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Yao Zuming Arrested and Detained
Ms. Yao Zuming was arrested at home by officers from the Jinning County Police Department on August 13, 2024. She is currently detained in the Kunming City First Detention Center.
3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Tong Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Tong Shuhua was arrested when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Beishan Neighborhood on August 9, 2024. She was released the next day.
4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Jin Yijun to be Released Soon, After Serving Three Years
Ms. Jin Yijun from Qilihe District was arrested on September 24, 2021 and has been detained since then. She was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan on August 11, 2023. She was admitted to the Gansu Province Women’s Prison on December 4, 2023, and is scheduled to be released on September 24, 2024.
5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Guofen Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Guofen was arrested by officers from the Caitingqiao Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at Caitingqiao Market in Yutian County on August 15, 2024. She was given 15 days in the Yutian County Lockup.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Detained
Ms. Liu Guihua from Xincun Street Subdistrict, Jiang’an District, around 70 years old, was detained in the Dongxihu Detention Center for a month in the second half of 2023, after being recorded by surveillance camera while distributing Falun Gong materials. The police demanded that she report to them every month after her release. She was taken back into custody the Dongxihu Detention Center again on July 10, 2024, and is facing indictment as the police submitted her case to the procuratorate.
7. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Yuzhen Faces Prison Sentence
Ms. Zhang Yuzhen was arrested on February 28, 2024, for distributing truth-clarifying materials, and has been detained in Yinchuan City Detention Center. After her initial hearing by the Xixia District Court on June 28, 2024, her family hired a second lawyer for her. The new lawyer visited her on August 12 and learned that the police had forced her to her knees during her arrest. Her family subsequently filed a complaint against the police. She is scheduled to appear in court again at 9:30 a.m. on August 26, 2024.
8. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liao Zhijun Arrested and Detained
Mr. Liao Zhijun was arrested by officers from the Nanta Police Station when he was putting up Falun Gong stickers on July 29, 2024. He is currently being detained in the Chenzhou City Detention Center. His mother, who is in her 80s, is left at home by herself with no one to care for her.
9. [Ruian City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fan Meihong and Ms. Chen Hemei Persecuted
Ms. Fan Meihong from Mayu Town, over 70, was arrested six months ago and has since been detained. Her case has been submitted to the Ruian City Court.
Ms. Chen Hemei from Mayu Town, 75, was arrested at the same time as Ms. Fan. She had a health problem during her detention and underwent a surgery. She was released on bail in mid-August 2024.
10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Wenqin Arrested
Ms. Huang Wenqin, 86, was arrested at home on the evening of June 24, 2024. Two officers from the Jilin Province Police Department, and two officers, Du Xiaoqing and He Junchi, from the Jiangxi Street Police Station in Wuhou District, ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, informational materials, and tablet. She was taken to the police station for interrogation and released around midnight.
