(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Men Fengming Arrested
2. [Yuncheng County, Shandong Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
3. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Wang Xinghai Harassed
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lyu Guilan Arrested
5. [Chongqing] Mr. Wang Guoqi and His Wife Ms. Zhou Zihua Arrested
1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Men Fengming Arrested
Mr. Men Fengming was arrested at home in Fenglanzhuang Village, Qigezhuang Town of Dachang County on the morning of August 7, 2024. Officers from the Xianghe County Police Department accused him of putting up posters about Falun Gong in Xianghe County a few days earlier. Mr. Men is being detained in the Xianghe County Lockup.
2. [Yuncheng County, Shandong Province] More Than Ten Practitioners Arrested
More than ten practitioners, including Chen Chengge, Zhang Jinhuan, Cui Jun, Zhang Pingxin, Ms. Zhang Aiying, and Xia Ruiying, were arrested on July 10, 2024, when they gathered to study the Falun Gong teachings together. Four of them, including Chen, Zhang Jinhuan, Cui and Zhang Pingxin, were taken to a detention center.
Ms. Zhang Aiying passed out during the arrest and was taken to a hospital. Her family deposited 30,000 yuan to bail her out.
Xia, over 70 years of age, was released on the same day.
3. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Wang Xinghai Harassed
Wang Xinghai from Xiaotaoyuan Village of Chengyang Town was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked Wang’s home and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials around July 20, 2024. The police extorted 1,000 yuan from Wang.
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lyu Guilan Arrested
Ms. Lyu Guilan from Jinzhou District was recorded by surveillance cameras while distributing Falun Gong materials on May 4, 2024. She was followed by plainclothes officers on May 12, 2024 when she went out to talk to people about Falun Gong on the street, and was arrested at home hours later. Her Falun Gong books and eleven media players were confiscated. She was taken to the Longwangmiao Police Station for interrogation and released on bail later that day.
5. [Chongqing] Mr. Wang Guoqi and His Wife Ms. Zhou Zihua Arrested
Mr. Wang Guoqi, 82, and his wife Ms. Zhou Zihua, 77, from Kaizhou District, were arrested when they were distributing Falun Gong materials in Xintangfang Vegetable Market in Hedong on the early morning of August 7, 2024. The couple were taken to the Renli Police Department for interrogation and released at around 3 p.m. that day.
