(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Xin Detained8. [Beijing] Ms. Gong Ruiping Becomes Incapacitated While Serving Time in Beijing Women’s Prison
1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xinyue Faces Trial
Ms. Zhang Xinyue’s case was submitted to the Dadong District Procuratorate on July 22, 2024, and moved to the Dadong District Court days later.
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xu Shufang Detained
Ms. Xu Shufang of Xushui District was arrested at home and taken to a detention center by officer Hao Xinlun from the Caohe Town Police Station on the morning of August 7, 2024.
3. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Guixiu Arrested
Ms. Jiang Guixiu, 66, was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Zhaoyuan City Court on December 21, 2022. Her appeal was denied. To avoid serving time, she lived away from home and went into hiding. In their search for Ms. Jiang, the police repeatedly harassed, monitored, and threatened her family. She was seized by the police on August 1, 2024. It’s not clear where she is currently detained.
4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Wei Detained
Ms. Liu Wei of Xiangfang District was arrested by Xincheng Police Station officers on August 6, 2024 for distributing Falun Gong flyers in a community market. She was given 15 days of administrative detention.
5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hongwei Detained
Mr. Wang Hongwei, 46, was arrested at home by Malan Police Station officers on the morning of July 14, 2024. The officers seized his work computer, Falun Gong books, and other items. His three guests were also arrested and later released on bail. He was put on criminal detention.
6. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Sun Deguo Detained
Mr. Sun Deguo, 45, was arrested by Daqing City Domestic Security Division officers on his way to deliver packages at noon on August 6, 2024. He is being held in the Lindian Detention Center.
7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Xin Detained
Ms. Wang Xin was harassed at home by seven officers from the Jingxi Police Station on the evening of July 15, 2024. Her home was ransacked.
The next morning, she was taken to the Taihe Police Station by several plainclothes officers from the Baiyun District Police Department, and then to the Baiyun District Lockup for five days.
After the Songzhou Police Station heard about her arrest, they fabricated the charge that she distributed Falun Gong materials last year, resulting in another five days of detention.
The police attempted to force Ms. Wang to renounce Falun Gong when they released her on July 26, 2024. She refused to comply.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Gong Ruiping Becomes Incapacitated While Serving Time in Beijing Women’s Prison
Ms. Gong Ruiping was arrested on July 20, 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 5.5 years with an 11,000-yuan fine by the Pinggu District Court on February 21, 2022. While serving time at the Beijing Women’s Prison, the guards disrupted her sleep by forcing her to accompany the inmates when they used the restroom at night. She recently became incapacitated as a result of sleep deprivation and other abuse and has been taken to the prison hospital.
