Taiwan: People Express Their Support for Falun Gong During Grand March in Taipei

(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a grand march on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Many residents and tourists stopped to watch, and expressed their support for Falun Gong.

The march was led by the Tian Guo Marching Band, followed by four sections: “The Spread of Dafa,” “The Great Tide of Quitting the CCP,” and “End the Persecution,” and followed by the waist drum team.

Practitioners held banners which had the messages: “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “The CCP’s Persecution of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Intolerable,” “China Is Not the CCP,” “Stop the CCP From Harvesting Organs,” and, “Disintegrate the CCP and End the Persecution.”

The march passed through the bustling streets of Taipei City, which features many large department stores, multinational corporations and government offices. Many people stopped to watch the march and express their support for Falun Gong.

Falun Dafa Is Amazing!

Ms. Zeng, who works in finance and accounting, and her children stopped to watch the march. She said, “People who practice Falun Dafa look very kind. When I saw so many people, I thought wow! That’s amazing! It’s spectacular.”

Ms. Zeng said she hopes that in the future, people in China can learn Falun Gong, “The Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance practitioners believe in are universal values, because if people don’t tolerate each other, they can have conflicts. The belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is precisely the spirit that modern society needs and lacks.”

She encouraged Falun Gong practitioners in China and said, “I will post videos of today’s march on the Internet.”

Mr. Xu, a software engineer, said, “I think it’s shocking! The banners expose the CCP’s persecution, and the march is large. This is very impressive.” Regarding the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong for 25 years, he said with emotion: “The CCP has not done well, so no matter what it does, in the end, evil will be defeated by good, and it will be eliminated by history.”

Mr. Xu expressed his admiration and support for practitioners who continue to adhere to their belief despite the persecution, “It is admirable and touching that Falun Gong practitioners in China can firmly hold their faith. Some people in Taiwan do not understand Falun Gong. I will tell them that Falun Gong was persecuted by the CCP, and I will share my thoughts with my friends.”

The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

Mr. Shen, a recent university graduate, watched the march. He told his family what he knew about Falun Gong. He said that when he was in college, he learned about the history of Falun Gong and peaceful persecution through the Internet, and he knew practitioners were suffering and persecuted by the CCP.

Regarding Falun Gong practitioners’ practice of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Mr. Shen said, “The world now needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, because with the development of science and technology, we can communicate with the whole world. However, direct communication between people is no longer valued, so all kinds of conflicts emerge one after another. People now really need the spirit of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, because if everyone had sincerity, kindness, and forbearance, there would be fewer conflicts.”

Ms. Lin from Taipei saw the march with her nephew, and said she heard of Falun Gong but did not know much about it. Through the demonstration, she understood the reason why Falun Gong has spread so widely but is persecuted by the CCP. She hopes that more people can clearly know the specific situation of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, and she called on more people to uphold justice and stop the persecution.

Mr. Huang and his friends watched the march and he said he knew the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. He said the CCP is an authoritarian regime and may not be moved by this demonstration: “But the march can be seen by the people of Taiwan and even other countries around the world through the Internet.” He believes that freedom of belief, like freedom of speech, should be respected, and must be protected by the Constitution, and he believes that Falun Gong which practices Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and faith should be respected.
