(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Xuezhang and Ms. Wu Junfang Face Prison Sentences
2. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Huo Shixian Arrested and Detained
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xing Yanbo Arrested and Detained
4. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wu Bo and Li Hongxin Arrested
5. [Ji’nan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kong Xiaohui Arrested
6. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Li Jinshu Harassed
7. [Gongan County, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Kaiju Harassed
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Jian Released after Serving Two Years in Prison
1. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Xuezhang and Ms. Wu Junfang Face Prison Sentences
Mr. Wu Xuezhang was tried by the Congtai District Court on July 11, 2024. His lawyer entered a not guilty plea for him. His family attended the hearing.
Ms. Wu Junfang from Ci County is scheduled to appear in the Ci County Court on July 23, 2024. She recently develops high blood pressure while being detained.
2. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Huo Shixian Arrested and Detained
Mr. Huo Shixian from Huozhuang Village of Xinshengdian Town, in his 70s, was arrested at home on June 18 or 19, 2024. He was taken to the Dezhou Detention Center.
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xing Yanbo Arrested and Detained
Ms. Xing Yanbo from Taikang County was arrested by officers from the Mongolian Autonomous Region Police Station on the afternoon of July 7, 2024. She is currently detained in the Daqing City Second Detention Center.
4. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wu Bo and Li Hongxin Arrested
Li Hongxin, Mr. Wu Bo and Mr. Wu’s wife were arrested by officers from the Tienan Police Station at 6 am. on July 11, 2024. Mr. Wu’s wife was released shortly after. The two practitioners were interrogated in the police station. The reason for their arrest is that they were recorded by the surveillance cameras in November 2023 when they went to Siping City, Jilin Province to mail letters about Falun Gong.
5. [Ji’nan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kong Xiaohui Arrested
Ms. Kong Xiaohui, 79, was a physics teacher at Qilu Petrochemical Middle School in Zibo City. She has been living in Ji’nan City in the past two decades. She went back to her hometown in Zibo City in June 2024 and was arrested by local police.
6. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Li Jinshu Harassed
Li Jinshu lives in Yanling Village, Loucun Town, Laishui County. Li’s home was ransacked by officers from the Loucun Town Police Station in June 2024. The Falun Gong books and wall posters were confiscated.
7. [Gongan County, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Kaiju Harassed
Several officers from the Douhudi Police Station went to Ms. Yu Kaiju’s home on the morning of July 2, 2024. They knocked on the door. When no one opened the door, they took away Ms. Yu’s electronic bike in the yard and have not returned it yet.
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Jian Released after Serving Two Years in Prison
Ms. Wang Jian from Bin County was arrested at home on July 11, 2022 and was later sentenced to two years in prison by the Yilan County Court. She served time at the eighth ward of Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison and has been released on July 10, 2024.
