1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. An Shunlian Facing Trial
2. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Hongli Becoming Mentally Disordered During Detention
3. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jinfeng Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
4. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jianqiu Arrested and Detained
5. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Qiying Arrested
6. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Juying Facing Trial
1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. An Shunlian Facing Trial
Ms. An Shulian from Dongchuan District, 76, was tried by the Xishan District Court several months ago. She recently received a court summons that she is scheduled to stand trial on July 9, 2024. Ms. An refused to sign the summons, stating that she had not committed any crimes.
2. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Hongli Becoming Mentally Disordered During Detention
Mr. Zhao Hongli was arrested on October 8, 2021 and was later sentenced to four and a half years in prison. He has been detained in the No. 4 Prison of Jidong. His family visited him in December 2023 and found that he was mentally abnormal. He smiled foolishly to his family. His teeth turned dark. His family suspected that he was given psychotropic drugs.
3. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jinfeng Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
Ms. Xu Jinfeng from Chiping District was arrested by officers in Chiping District on August 12, 2022. She was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Dong’e County Court on January 10, 2024. Ms. Xu appealed with the Liaocheng City Intermediate Court, which ruled on May 6, 2024 to uphold her original verdict. Ms. Xu was taken to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on June 13, 2024.
4. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jianqiu Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Jianqiu was arrested at home by officers in Penglai District on the afternoon of June 24, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her computer, printer and Falun Gong books. The police initially gave her a 13-day detention, but later extended it and transferred her from the Penglai Lockup to the Yantai City Detention Center on July 5, 2024.
5. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Qiying Arrested
Ms. Chen Qiying from Jianghan Oilfield, 79, was arrested at home by several officers from the Guanghua Police Station on April 9, 2024. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the police station for interrogation and released in the evening.
6. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Juying Facing Trial
Ms. Zhang Juying was scheduled to appear in the Guanghan City Court at 9:30 a.m. on July 10, 2024. She was charged with “undermining the enforcement of law,” a standard pretext used to frame Falun Gong practitioners.
