(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lei Xiuxiang Imprisoned
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Ziqun Sentenced to Eighteen Months in Prison
3. [Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Ms. Liu Li Submitted to the Court
4. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Huo Guilan Arrested and Detained
5. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Shuniu Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
6. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] The Case Against Hu Zihua Submitted to the Procuratorate
7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] The Case Against Ms. Liang Shaolin Submitted to the Procuratorate
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhao Rongjun Sentenced to Prison

1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lei Xiuxiang Imprisoned
Ms. Lei Xiuxiang was arrested at her home in the Fengman District by officers from the Dachangtun Police Station on March 31, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and a printer. Ms. Lei was held in the Jilin City Detention Center and is now transferred to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison. It was said that Ms. Lei was sentenced to five years in prison.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Ziqun Sentenced to Eighteen Months in Prison
Ms. Liu Ziqun from Nan’an District was arrested on February 22, 2022, for distributing truth-clarifying materials. It was recently learned that Ms. Liu was sentenced to eighteen months in prison.
3. [Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Ms. Liu Li Submitted to the Court
Ms. Liu Li from Xiafeidi Township was on bail pending trial. She was arrested at home on May 20, 2024, and taken to the Tieling City Women’s Detention Center. Her case has been submitted to the Changtu Court.
4. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Huo Guilan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Huo Guilan from the Chencang District was recently placed under official arrest and sent to a detention center. She had symptoms of high blood pressure and dizziness. Her family asked to bail her out for medical treatment but their request was denied.
5. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Shuniu Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison
Ms. Zhao Shuniu, 70, was arrested in 2021 and has been detained in No. 3 Detention Center of Zhengzhou City for two years. She was sentenced to eight years in prison in September 2023. Ms. Zhao is still held in the detention center.
6. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] The Case Against Hu Zihua Submitted to the Procuratorate
Hu Zihua from Chenxi County of Human Province, was arrested by police in the Doumen District of Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, on December 24, 2023. It was recently learned that Hu’s case was submitted to the Xiangzhou District Procuratorate in Zhuhai City.
7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] The Case Against Ms. Liang Shaolin Submitted to the Procuratorate
Ms. Liang Shaolin from Baiyun District, in her 70s, lives in Baiyun District, Guangzhou City. Her case was submitted to the Liwan District Procuratorate in mid-May 2024.
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhao Rongjun Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Zhao Rongjun from Nan’an District was recently sentenced to six months in prison.
9. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Chen Mingxiu is in her 80s and lives by herself. She fell and was injured. Ms. Guo Defen from the Tongchuan District and Practitioner Peng learned about her situation and went to visit her on May 10, 2024. Several people including Lu, head of the Xicheng Police Station, showed up just after they arrived at Ms. Chen’s home. These people ransacked Ms. Chen’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and some truth-clarifying materials. Ms. Guo Defen and Peng were taken to the police station for interrogation. They were released that evening.
10. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuqin Sentenced to Six Years in Prison
Ms. Zhang Xiuqin was sentenced to six years in prison by the Linghai City Court on May 10, 2024. She filed an appeal on May 13, 2024.
11. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Gui Ping and Fu Kuaidi Arrested
Ms. Gui Ping, 85, and Fu Kuaidi, 82, went to the home of 87-year-old Ms. Guan Caiyun on May 9, 2024. Several people including officers from the Gongyuan Police Station and the Donghu District Police Department showed up. They ransacked the home and confiscated several Falun Gong books and some calendars (which had information about Falun Gong). Ms. Gui Ping and Fu Kuaidi were taken to the Gongyuan Police Station for interrogation. The two practitioners refused to cooperate and were released around noon.
12. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Jingrong Tried in Court
Ms. Zhu Jingrong from Beipei District, 78, was tried in the Jiangbei District Court on May 8, 2024. Her lawyer defended her innocence. No verdict was issued that day. Ms. Zhu returned home.
Ms. Zhu was informed by the Caijia Police Station on May 13, 2024, that she was placed under bail pending trial for one year, from May 8, 2024 to May 7, 2025.
