(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 34 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Lin Hongjie and Others Sentenced
The Laizhou City Court sent the verdicts to the practitioners’ attorneys on May 20, 2024. Mr. Lin Hongjie was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 40,000 yuan; Mr. Xie Qingcai was sentenced to five years and fined 20,000 yuan; Ms. Fang Ruiqin, Gao Rijun, and Ms. Teng Qinhua were each sentenced to three years and fined 10,000 yuan; Ms. Feng Guoping was sentenced to three years with four years suspension and fined 10,000 yuan; Pan Zhaohua was sentenced to 18 months and fined 5,000 yuan.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xinping Faces Indictment
Ms. Li Xinping was arrested on the evening of April 25, 2024. She is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center. Her case was submitted to the procuratorate.
3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Kong Fanqin Arrested
Ms. Kong Fanqin was arrested by officers from the Shuiquliu Police Station on May 15, 2024. They tried to detain her, took her to Jilin Police Hospital and Center Hospital, and made her undergo the detention center entry physical exam. Because of her poor physical exam results, the Jilin Detention Center refused to admit Ms. Kong. She was released the next day.
Three people from Jilin City arrested Ms. Kong on May 17, 2024. While they were taking her to Jilin City, they received several phone calls and took her back home.
4. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yingchun Incarcerated
Ms. Yang Yingchun of Jing County was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison by officers from the Jing County Police Department.
5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Zhang Jincheng Detained
Zhang Jincheng, gender unknown, was arrested by Chongqing Road Police Station officers on May 17, 2024. The police ransacked Zhang’s home, seized two handheld computers, a cell phone, two touch screens, and other items. Zhang was subjected to seven days detention and is being held in a detention center.
6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Dong Chunling Arrested
Ms. Dong Chunling was arrested at her home by Dongfeng Road Police Station officers on the afternoon of May 20, 2024. They said the surveillance system showed that she distributed Falun Gong flyers.
7. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yuan Xiulian Arrested
Ms. Yuan Xiulian of Jixi County was arrested by Jixi Domestic Security Division officers on May 2, 2024 for posting Falun Gong messages on utility poles.
8. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Gu Chunying, Ms. Xu Shuyan, and Ms. Chen Suling of Yaolao Village were arrested at home by officers from the Liaoyang County Police Department on May 18, 2024. The police ransacked their homes and took the practitioners to the police station. They have since been released.
9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Lifang Detained
Ms. Xu Lifang was arrested and detained on May 10, 2024 for posting Falun Gong printouts in the Taoyuan area.
10. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhang Guilan, Mr. Li Shisong, Ms. Yin Jiling, Xia Guangfa, and three other practitioners were arrested by Zhongqu Police Department officers on May 16, 2024, when they were reading Zhuan Falun together. They were taken to the police department, and questioned separately. They were released that afternoon.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Luan Wenmei Detained
Ms. Luan Wenmei was arrested by Balibao Police Station officers on May 7, 2024. She was detained for ten days in the Weizigou Detention Center and was released on May 17.
12. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Gang Zi Arrested
Gang Zi (gender not known) of Anshan City was arrested in Liaoyang City by Liaoyang City officers on May 18, 2024. Their home was ransacked.
13. [Beijing] Ms. Ji Guixia and Others Arrested and Detained
Ms. Ji Guixi and four other practitioners from Zhangzuo Village, Pinggu District were arrested in the Kaoshanji Street Market by Jinhaihu Police Station officers on May 4, 2023. Three practitioners were released. Ms. Ji and another practitioner are still in police custody.
Zhang Shunde of Jiangjunguan Village, Pinggu District was recently arrested.
14. [Qichun County, Hubei Province] Wang Chengfa Sentenced
Wang Chengfa, gender unknown, was sentenced to a year in prison. Wang was put into Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County. The prison term will be completed by May 26, 2024.
15. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Liliang Arrested
Mr. Wang Liliang was arrested by Shuangjie Police Station officers on the morning of May 10, 2024. His Falun Gong books, computers, cell phones, and other items were confiscated. Police took his blood sample by force. They released him on bail and had his family take him home on the afternoon of May 11.
16. [Shanghai] Ms. Cai Yufang Released
Ms. Cai Yufang of Minhang District was arrested by Minhang Police Station officers on April 19, 2024. She was released on May 19, 2024.
