(Minghui.org) May 13, 2024 was the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public and the 25th World Falun Dafa Day. Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony, and Mayor Lori Bagwell of Carson City issued certificates and a proclamation to recognize the occasion.

The certificate reads, “As Governor of the great State of Nevada, I congratulate you on the 25th Annual Falun Dafa Day. Your contributions to this uplifting mind-body practice centered on the universal principles of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance are commendable. May you continue to transcend cultural boundaries while holistically empowering individuals to embrace and improve their well-being.”

The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. It includes five gentle exercises, including meditation.
“Falun Dafa, relieves stress and anxiety, increases energy and vitality, has helped to preserve human traditions such as honesty, courtesy, loyalty, and unselfishness; a truly unique and highly effective practice that millions around the world have made a part of their lives.
“Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public in China by Mr. Li Hongzhi on May 13th, 1992. Mr. Li is a five-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee and was nominated by the European Parliament for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. He is also the recipient of Freedom House's International Religious Freedom Award.
“Falun Dafa practitioners helped shed light on communism's destructive nature through peaceful decades-long protests against the persecution of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its human rights abuses. Since July 1999, the former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin perceived the spiritual practice as a threat to its doctrine of atheism and launched an unprecedented persecutory campaign to eradicate it, including forced organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners.
“Falun Dafa practitioners in Nevada have brought the practice to the communities since 1998 by providing free teaching of the exercises, attending parades, offering free art exhibitions and free workshops in public libraries, and several thousand Nevadans have come to learn Falun Dafa.
“NOW, THEREFORE, I, Lori Bagwell, Mayor of Carson City, Nevada, do hereby proclaim May 13th, 2024, as “World Falun Dafa Day” and urge all citizens to observe this day.”
