(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

13. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Jinbo Admitted to Prison to Serve a Four-year Term
1. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Dehui in Serious Condition
Ms. Yu Dehui, nearly 70, was sentenced to 14 months in prison. She was sent to Zouma Women’s Prison in November 2023.
Her younger sister recently received a call from the prison and was told that Ms. Yu had several severe diseases and was admitted to a hospital.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wu Qingyuan Detained in Medical Ward
Mr. Wu Qingyuan was arrested by Jingyuedajie Police Station officers on February 29, 2024. His home was ransacked. He has been held in the Changchun City Detention Center, and he is now in a medical ward.
The prosecutor issued an arrest warrant, and Mr. Wu faces indictment.
3. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Kong Xianmin Detained
Ms. Kong Xianmin of Caoshi Town, nearly 70, was arrested by officers from the Caoshi Town Police Station and the Qingyuan County Police Department on the morning of June 6, 2024, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Tukouzi Town. She was subjected to 10 days administrative detention. She is being held in the Fushun City Women’s Detention Center. She will be released on June 17, 2024.
4. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Ms. Jiang Fengli Resubmitted
Ms. Jiang Fengli’s case was returned by the prosecutor because of insufficient evidence. The Baiqi Town Police Station fabricated evidence and resubmitted the case. She is being held in the Dandong Detention Center.
5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Shuzhen Arrested
Ms. Liu Shuzhen from the Zhaozhuang Residential District talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Fengnan District Street Market on June 6, 2024. Someone videotaped her with their cell phone and reported her to the police. She was arrested. She was first taken to the Youyili Police Station, and then to the Jinghua Police Station. She was released on bail.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Piao Taishu Arrested
Ms. Piao Taishu lives in Jilin University South Campus Residential District. Officer Yuan Haijia from the district police station went to her home at noon on June 11, 2024, and took her to the police station.
She has been living alone for more than ten years because the police department refused to issue her passport so she could not join her family in Japan. She has been repeatedly harassed by police and community clerks.
7. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] No News About Ms. Guo After Her Arrest
Ms. Guo, 59, was arrested at her home after 10:00 a.m. around May 30, 2024, by officers from the Tongshanxinqu Police Station. Her family and friends have not heard any news about her since then.
8. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Jinxiang Arrested
Ms. Yang Jinxiang of Yanqing District was arrested at her home in Yongning Town by officers from Haidian District on June 6, 2024.
9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wen Qingfang Incarcerated
Ms. Wen Qingfang from Qian’an City was arrested by Qian’an City Police Department officers on August 1, 2022. She was held in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center.
She was tried on April 27, 2023, and in mid-June 2023. The Qian’an City Court sentenced her to three years in prison and fined her 7,000 yuan in July 2023. She appealed to the Tangshan City Intermediate Court. The court rejected her appeal on September 5, 2023. She was sent to the Shijiazhuang City Women’s Prison on December 17, 2023.
10. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Persecution Against Ms. Liu Cuixian’s Family
Thirty officers from Huangtupo Police Station and Hongshan Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Cuixian’s home around 2:30 p.m. on June 6, 2024. They ransacked the place, seized about 100,000 yuan in cash and some books. They told her that they froze all of her family’s bank accounts which contained several million yuan. Eight practitioners, including Li Zhuxiu and Liu Xiaoping, were reading Zhuan Falun in Ms. Liu’s home when the police came. They were also arrested.
Her grandson is a college student. He may have to drop out of school because Ms. Liu can no longer pay his tuition and living expenses. Her son has a mental disability and cannot take care of anything. Her daughter-in-law, Peng Xiuping passed away in November 2023. Both she and her daughter-in-law were sentenced to eight years in prison for practicing Falun Gong and were imprisoned in the Women’s No. 2 Prison between 2012 and December 2020.
11. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yaru and Mr. Liu Hongyun Imprisoned
Ms. Zhang Yaru was sent to Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. Her husband, Mr. Liu Hongyun, was sent to Tailai Prison.
12. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lu Chaoxiu Sentenced
Ms. Lu Chaoxiu, 76, lives in Huji Town, Zhongxiang City. She distributed Falun Gong flyers in Yicheng City in 2022. Someone reported her. She was arrested by officers from the Yicheng Police Station. The Yicheng Police Department released her on bail on June 23, 2022. She was called to Huji Police Station for questioning on December 6, 2023. The court held a hearing on March 1, 2024. Prosecutor Yang Junfeng and assistant Wang Man from the Yicheng City Procuratorate brought charges against her. She was sentenced to three years in prison and was allowed to serve the sentence outside of prison.
Her husband, Deng Guilin, is forced to assist with monitoring her, does not allow her to read Falun Gong books or do the Falun Gong exercises. He does not allow her to leave home alone, or talk to or contact practitioners. He beats her when she does not comply, and forces her to watch TV every day.
13. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Jinbo Admitted to Prison to Serve a Four-year Term
Mr. Liu Jinbo, 47, was arrested on May 18, 2023, for putting up information about Falun Gong. He was sentenced to four years on November 30, 2023, by the Qixia City Court. After spending nearly a year in the Qixia City Detention Center, he was transferred to the Jinan City Prison on April 17, 2024, to serve the term.
