(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xie Yujun Officially Arrested

Mr. Xie Yujun was officially placed under arrest on May 27, 2024. His family was notified to go to the procuratorate and sign paperwork. They refused. Mr. Xie has been held in Xingning City Detention Center for 33 days.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shuxiang Arrested

Six plainclothes officers from the Beiguan Police Station in the Weicheng District broke into Ms. Li Shuxiang’s home, ransacked the place, and arrested her on May 27, 2024. Ms. Li was held in the police station.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xiong Guiqin Arrested

Ms. Xiong Guiqin from the Huanggu District was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Heping District Domestic Security Division on May 24, 2024. She is being held in Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.

4. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Zhang Wanbo Arrested

Mr. Zhang Wanbo from the Hailar District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on May 22, 2024. He was arrested by officers from the Hulun Police Station in the Hailar District. They ransacked his home around 1 a.m. that night and confiscated his Falun Gong books, a computer, and a printer. Mr. Zhang is currently held in the Hulunbuir City Detention Center.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yaqin Passes Away Due to Abuse

Ms. Zhang Yaqin was held in Anshan City Detention Center and Liaoning Women’s Prison from 2014 to 2019 after being sentenced to four years in prison in 2014. She was severely tortured and developed rheumatoid arthritis. Her arms, hands, legs, and feet became extremely misshapen. She was unable to take care of herself and was in constant pain.

She passed away on May 4, 2024, at the age of 68.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yingjun Held in Detention Center

Ms. Liu Yingjun from the Xinzhaizi Sub-district in the Ganjingzi District was arrested by police officer Han from the Malanzi Sub-district on May 10, 2024. She is being held in the Dalian Detention Center.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xing Xinli Arrested

Ms. Xing Xinli from the Weicheng District was arrested. Her family was forced to pay the police 20,000 yuan in exchange for her release on bail. She has returned home.

8. [Qujing City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wu Qiaozhen and Ms. Xu Xingming Arrested

Ms. Wu Qiaozhen, 70, was arrested at home by officers from the Qilin District Domestic Security Division and the Nanlin Police Station on July 17, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The police went to 67-year-old Ms. Xu Xingming’s home, ransacked the place, and arrested her. The two women were taken to the Qilin District Detention Center. Ms. Wu was detained for 15 days, and Ms. Xu was detained for 13 days.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Gao Xinglan Arrested

Ms. Gao Xinglan from the Changshou District was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested and her home was ransacked by Yanjia Police Station officers on May 24, 2024. They collected samples of her blood and fingerprints, measured her height, and photographed her. They dragged her into the interrogation room and restrained her in a metal chair. They ordered her to sign paperwork, which she refused to do. She returned home that day.

10. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Xiucheng Held in Detention Center

Mr. Sun Xiucheng, 72, from the Zhifu District was arrested at home by Shihuiyao Police Station officers around 11 p.m. on May 9, 2024. His home was ransacked. Mr. Sun has been placed under criminal detention and is being held in the Zhifu District Detention Center. His lawyer’s request to meet with him has been denied.
