(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Harassed, Arrested, and Detained
1. [Weinan City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lin Yaling Sentenced
Ms. Lin Yaling was arrested and taken to the Dali County Detention Center on the evening of October 15, 2022. The Huazhou District Court held a secret trial in September 2023 without notifying her family as required by law. The court sentenced her to three-and-a-half-years in prison in March 2024.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Formally Arrested
Zhang Jianping, Li Ximin, and Li Shuyun from the Kuiwen District were arrested by Fangzi District Police Department officers. They are held in the Weifang Detention Center and are deprived of family visits. Their families were told on May 24, 2024, to go to court, and get their arrest warrants.
3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Chunling Appealed
Ms. Zhou Chunling lives in the Hulan District. Her daughter received her sentencing statement from Daowai Court on April 22, 2024. She was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. She appealed. The Harbin Intermediate Court accepted her case on May 24, 2024.
4. [Ningjin County, Hebei Province] Mr. Feng Liyong Harassed, Ms. Geng Shaoju Arrested
Ms. Geng Shaoju of Sizhilan Town was arrested by Nanzhiqiu Town Police Station officers on the morning of June 2, 2024, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Nanzhiqiu Town Street Market. She was taken to the Xinji City Police Department.
Mr. Feng Liyong who lives in Beihouzhuang, was harassed at home by officers from the Sizhilan Town Police Station several days before June 3, 2024.
5. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. He Chengzhu Detained
Mr. He Chengzhu, 77, was harassed at home by four officers from the Tongdong Road Police Station and the Tiefeng Police Department around 7:00 a.m. on May 11, 2024. They ransacked his place, seized two copies of Zhuan Falun, a cell phone, and several copies of Falun Gong flyers. He was subjected to administrative punishment, was fined 500 yuan and detained for five days.
6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Leng Xiaocheng Formally Arrested
Mr. Leng Xiaocheng was arrested in front of his apartment building by officers from the Meilihu Police Station and the Anhui Province’s Guzhen County Police Department around 6:00 p.m. on April 11, 2024. He is being held in Anhui Province’s Bengbu City Detention Center. After he was detained for 37 days, the Guzhen County Procuratorate issued an arrest warrant on May 18, 2024.
7. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Shijun Arrested
Ms. Wang Shijun, around 80, is a retired division-level member of the Jiangxi Province Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. She was arrested by Tengwangge Police Station officers around May 12, 2024, after someone reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She refused to sign the police report. The police had her husband and her son hold her hand and sign it. She was released.
8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Shenhua Persecuted for Her Faith
Ms. Hu Shenhua was persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. She had to leave home to avoid further persecution. She was arrested on the street in Baoding City by Lianqu Police Department officers on March 26, 2023. The police took her back to the Yi County Police Department and tried to detain her. Her blood pressure was over 200 mmHg, so the detention center refused to admit her. Yi County Police Station director Jing Mingzhong had a doctor make a false statement saying her blood pressure was normal on March 28, 2023. She was put into Baoding’s Qingyuan Detention Center. She was released on bail on April 28, 2023, and has been monitored since then.
Yi County police questioned her on April 11, 2024. The report was submitted to the procuratorate. The Yi County Police Department issued an end-of-release on bail notification on April 30, 2024. Ms. Hu returned home.
9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Harassed, Arrested, and Detained
Mr. Su Junjie of Jiacun Town was arrested by Jiacun Town Police Station director Wei Guanglei and officers on April 22, 2024. They ransacked his home. He was detained and released on April 28, 2024.
Ms. Liu Qiuzhen of Zhonghanzhuang Township was arrested on April 28, 2024. Her home was ransacked. She was released that evening after a detention center refused to admit her because of her high blood pressure.
Ms. Zhao Yanru lives in Xuzhuang Village, Gudian Town. She and her husband went to see a doctor in Beijing. Police called them and asked about the purpose of their trip.
Jiacun Town Police Station director Wei Guanglei and an officer harassed practitioners at their homes on May 24, 2024. He held several pieces of paper that listed the names of practitioners. They went to each practitioner’s home in each village of Jiacun Town. He had a camcorder on his shoulder. The policeman held his cell phone and took pictures. When they saw the drawings and decorations on the wall, they asked where they got them. They rummaged through some practitioners’ homes.
Wangdu County’s Gudian Town Police Station officers went to Ms. Wang Yurong’s home and Ms. Yuan Qiulian’s home in Ershilipu Village on the afternoon of May 28, 2024. They asked if they still practiced Falun Gong and asked for Ms. Wang’s phone number.
