Studying the Fa Well Is Fundamental for Practitioners

(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. When I look back at my cultivation path, I am deeply ashamed of the times I stumbled. Under Master’s boundless compassion, and encouraged by other practitioners, I decided to write down my cultivation experiences.

Studying the Fa is Fundamental for Practitioners

My forced labor term ended in 2013. After I was released from the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, I looked inward and realized that my biggest issue was not sincerely reading the Fa. My Fa study was superficial and I did it as though I were completing a task. I did not have the Fa in my heart.

Master said,

“In order for Dafa disciples to walk their paths well and do the three things well, they must study the Fa well and take Fa study seriously.” (“To the Australia Fa Conference,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress Vol. III)

“That is because the Fa is the foundation; it is what’s fundamental for Dafa disciples; it is what ensures everything; and it is the avenue by which a human being journeys toward godhood.” (“To the Australia Fa Conference,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress Vol. III)

I realized that as a Falun Dafa practitioner during the Fa-rectification I had a mission. To fulfill this mission, I had to immerse myself in the Fa (teachings) so my thoughts, words, and actions would be guided by Dafa.

Every day I read two lectures of Zhuan Falun with a Fa study group. I do not let the weather or anything else interfere with me.

I began to transcribe and memorize the Fa. Regardless of how busy, tired, or sleepy I felt, I always made time to transcribe and memorize the Fa.

I transcribed Zhuan Falun 14 times and memorized it twice. Through extensive study, transcription, and memorization of the Fa, I gained a deeper understanding of its principles, strengthened my righteous thoughts, and reduced interference. I’ve realized that the more diligently I study the Fa, the more efficiently and effectively I can do the three things.

Overcoming Fear

Guided by Master’s teachings, I overcame my fear and used various ways to clarify the truth to people.

One morning during the New Year fellow practitioners and I went to the countryside to distribute truth clarification materials. Two of us sent forth righteous thoughts in the car, while the other three distributed informational materials. When they returned, one practitioner told us that a young man photographed the materials with his cell phone and followed her. I realized that we could not allow people to commit crimes against Dafa.

Another practitioner and I exited the car and talked to the young man. We calmly said, “We are here to offer you a New Year’s gift. Don’t make any rash decisions that could harm yourself or your family.”

He appeared stunned. I continued, “Take a moment to read this booklet.” His demeanor immediately changed, and he said, “Alright, I will read it carefully.” We continued to clarify the truth and he understood why we were there. With righteous thoughts and Master’s guidance, the challenging situation changed.

Providing Materials to Fellow Practitioners

At one point the supply of truth clarifications materials was limited, so I printed some each night. The following morning I took the bus to deliver them.

While walking in my neighborhood, I noticed a car parked nearby with a young man inside. One moment he was engrossed in his cell phone and then he began scanning his surroundings. Sensing danger, I altered my route. I later observed the same car parked on the street again, and the young man seemed to be waiting. I reminded myself that as a practitioner I am guided solely by Dafa and Master, and my actions have nothing to do with those who wish to cause trouble.

One night, I had a dream in which all the old houses in our neighborhood collapsed with a loud bang. This dream signaled to me that my righteous thoughts played the main role. With Master’s help, I could deny the old force’s arrangement. Afterwards, the car that had been monitoring me disappeared. I knew this affirmed the power of righteous thoughts.

Using Every Opportunity to Clarify the Truth

Having served in the military for over 20 years, I cultivated relationships with colleagues, and we have had numerous social gatherings. I understood these events were opportunities arranged by Master to save sentient beings, so I made every effort to participate.

Prior to these meetings, I send forth righteous thoughts and prepared truth-clarification booklets and DVDs. I also ask fellow practitioners to send righteous thoughts.

Over the years, I helped more than 30 people renounce the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Overcoming Personal Challenges to Clarify the Truth Face-to-Face

Despite being naturally introverted and reluctant to talk to strangers, I pushed past my limitations to clarify the truth face-to-face in order to save sentient beings.

Some days I spent an entire morning with fellow practitioners on the street but I did not approach anyone. I refused to become discouraged; I persisted in going out to clarify the truth every day. After several years of perseverance, I was able to calmly and confidently explain the truth to people. Regardless of the weather, I continue to go out to clarify the truth. While the number of people who have renounced the CCP may not be large, I forged my own path. I genuinely believe that each step of my improvement embodies Master’s immense compassion.

Two years ago I was out clarifying the truth on a rainy day, but there were very few people. A man who looked to be 60 years old, approached me, asking directions to the long-distance bus station. I offered to go there with him and clarified the truth to him on the way. I helped him renounce the CCP, and gave him a card for getting through the Internet firewall and an amulet. He sincerely thanked me, and insisted I take a bag of yellow apples from his home in Chengde, Hebei province. I understood this was Master encouraging me; it was all Master’s arrangement.

Another memorable encounter happened when I was clarifying the truth on the street. A man around 60 years old was walking about 10 meters ahead of me. I felt we had a predestined relationship, so I decided to catch up with him.

He walked quickly. Suddenly, two 20 yuan bills flew out of his pocket and dropped to the ground. Unaware, he continued walking. I picked up the money, called out to him, and handed it to him. I took the opportunity to clarify the truth, and helped him renounce the CCP. He was very grateful. This incident reminded me that as long as we are determined to save people, Master will arrange everything.

My Cultivation Journey

My cultivation journey has been filled with ups and downs, and stumbles and falls. Every step forward was made possible by Master's painstaking effort and compassionate protection.

When I was lost and confused, Master awakened me with boundless compassion; when I was in despair, Master enlightened me, reinforced my righteous thoughts, guided me to the right path, leading me steadily on the great path of Fa-rectification cultivation. I am infinitely grateful to Master! Only by diligently cultivating myself, fulfilling my vows, can I express my gratitude to Master!
