A Teacher Applies Falun Dafa Principles to Guide Students and Sees Remarkable Results

(Minghui.org) In the summer of 2023 a student joined my tutoring class. He was facing the senior high school entrance examinations. Unfortunately his English grade was only 70 points. Besides he had only 10 days before he had to take the entrance exam. He asked me whether I could help him.

My answer was definitely yes, but he had to accept a condition. He had to assimilate into Dafa. I knew that his mother was a Dafa practitioner, and he supported his mother’s belief. I discussed Dafa’s principles with him. The more one’s behavior is assimilated with the universe’s characteristic, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the power of the Fa would give him wisdom and inspiration.

I advised him to read the Fa daily, even if it was just one paragraph. He readily agreed. Because he lived very far from me, he could only come for three hours in the afternoon every day. Considering the short period and his current situation, I tutored him with a clear target in mind. When the entrance exam was over, he told me that he had scored more than 90 points in the English subject.

Earnestly Cultivating in Dafa

I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1994. After reading Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa, I could not put it down. I realized that my life was for this, and I had finally found the Dafa and Master and embarked on the path of returning to my original self. My joy was beyond words. After practicing Falun Dafa, I quit all my bad habits, such as smoking, drinking, playing mahjong, and shooting birds with an air gun. I studied the Fa and did the Dafa exercises after work. My body and mind were purified.

As a Dafa practitioner and a teacher, I had my students’ future and their parents’ hopes in mind. I felt responsible during every lesson and treated every student with kindness. During the 45-minute class, I finished the teaching successfully. I always worked by keeping in mind the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. In class, I explained the content clearly and thoroughly with a kind tone of voice. When I looked at the young faces in the lecture hall, the kindness from my heart was a silent language communicating with the students. I never use harsh words to criticize or blame the students. Instead, I encouraged them calmly and let them see their achievements and hope.Experiencing the Achievements of Students

At that time, every time I stepped into the classroom, the students would applaud. In my heart, there was no stupid student; on the contrary, I, as a teacher, could not always be right. When I was teaching, I taught the students according to their abilities so that the good students had enough challenges while the underachievers could catch up. I made up the class unconditionally if I had to miss any.

My language was concise when I taught. The diverse and exciting teaching methods attracted every student. I often told the students to be a good person. Some students said, “Teacher, we don’t have a chance to slip out during your class. The class is over before we have heard enough.” Sometimes students said to me, “Teacher, you changed. You are very kind.” I told them that Falun Dafa had changed me. The student said, “Falun Dafa is good.”

At that time, I was in charge of a class graduating from junior high school. My students improved very fast in English, and their average score in the senior high school entrance exam was the second highest in the county. I was honored by the county government with the title of Model Teacher that year. The following year, I took the class from the second grade in junior high school.

The students English score on their final exam the year before was 19 points on the average. Those students would not have any hope of proceeding academically with this grade. There was no doubt that they would be ruined with such bad scores. I explained the situation to the school leadership and volunteered to work extra hours without pay. Of course, the school was supportive. Then, the morning and evening self-study time became a standard teaching time. Their English score reached an average of 81 points when they graduated from junior high school two years later. This breakthrough became the school’s new record, and I won the first-class bonus in school that year.

Alas that year, I was illegally expelled from the school because I refused to give up Dafa. Later, I was taken to prison for my belief. After I exited prison, I started a small tutoring class to make ends meet. Ninety-nine percent of my students in the class improved academically by a substantial margin. Some students jumped to first place from the upper middle level, and some to the top five from second to last in their class. Everyone had a leapfrog improvement and became the black horse at their school.

I accepted a third-grade student whose family was struggling financially in 2022. I only charged him a dozen yuan per lesson. He was a short boy and slow to react. His teachers ignored him, so he was placed in the last row of his classroom. He had no exercise book in his school bag since he did not do homework all year round. When I met him, he had a problem reading any article in the Chinese textbook. In mathematics, he needed help to do addition and subtraction. I asked his parents why they had not sent the child to any tutorial class earlier. They said that he had been tutored all the time.

I started teaching him from scratch, making a great effort to teach him with the patience and kindness I cultivated from Dafa. A few times, I scolded him loudly with a few words, and he cried. I immediately realized that my impatience had hurt the child.

At this time, I remembered Master’s words,

“Tense situations with others will come up unexpectedly for those of us who practice. How can you be prepared, then? If you can always be compassionate and calm, you will handle the issues that arise in your life well since you will have a buffer, in a sense. Things will work out well if you are always compassionate and good to others, thoughtful towards people, and handle whatever situations you get into with people by first pausing to consider how well your actions will go over with the other party and whether anyone will be hurt by them. You should hold yourself to high standards and raise the bar still further as you practice.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

Later, when my mind was calm, I taught him repeatedly and tirelessly until he understood, and then I proceeded to the next step. When I told him about Dafa, he said things disrespectful to Dafa since he was poisoned badly at his school. I knew Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s evil lies deceived the school teachers, and they poisoned the child in return. I carefully told him the truth about Dafa. He quit the “Young Pioneers” after he understood the reason. He removed the red scarf from his school bag and threw it into a nearby puddle later. Since then, the child has gradually become smarter. His mother said he was eager to come to my classes. I told her the truth about Dafa, and she happily withdrew from the CCP organizations.

It is challenging for ordinary people to achieve the extraordinary examples listed above. But I am a Dafa practitioner, and all this happens due to the power of Dafa.
