(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Li Xianghong Face Second Trial
Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Li Xianghong of Liquan County were arrested in September 2022. They were notified by the Qindu District Court in early May 2024 that their second trial is scheduled for May 30, 2024.
2. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Lan Zongyou Faces Indictment
Dongli Town resident Lan Zongyou, gender unknown, was arrested on March 15, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Lan’s home was ransacked. The Chenghai Procuratorate issued a warrant for Lan’s arrest in mid-April 2024. He or she is being held in the Chenghai Detention Center.
3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Li Xinping Detained
Li Xinping, gender unknown, was arrested at home on the evening of April 25, 2024. Officers said someone reported him or her. They ransacked the place and put him or her into the Yaojia Detention Center.
4. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zou Ruizhu Faces Indictment
Ms. Zou Ruizhu, 78, was arrested by Zhang Yonghua from the Jiahe County Domestic Security Division and others around 11:00 p.m. on April 17, 2024. The officers ransacked her place and seized her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, players, computers, and printers. After they took her to the Chengguan Police Station for interrogation, they tried to put her into the Chenzhou Police Department Detention Center. The center refused to admit her because of her health. She was released after 1:00 a.m. after they extorted 2,000 yuan from her daughter.
Police arrested her again on May 7, 2024. They took her to the Yongxing County Procuratorate, and ordered her to sign and fingerprint documents. She refused. The police grabbed her hands, and after trying nine times, finally got her fingerprints.
5. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chi Minbao Detained
Mr. Chi Minbao was arrested at home by Linjiang City’s Sangongli Police Department deputy director Liu, Domestic Security Division captain Chen Yugui, and seven or eight officers around 6:00 a.m. on March 26, 2024. They ransacked his place, and seized more than 10 drawings and calendars hanging on the wall with Falun Gong messages, and other items. He was detained for 10 days for posting “Falun Dafa is good” stickers, which were captured by the surveillance system. He was released on April 5, 2024.
6. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Huaxue Detained
Mr. Wang Huaxue of Taipingzhuang Town has been detained in the Jianping County Detention Center for two weeks. Taipingzhuang Town Police Station deputy director Gao Hongtao and five officers went to his home after 11:00 a.m. on May 11, 2024. They searched the place and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, music players, desktop calendars, wall decors with Chinese character “Fu” (Blessing), couplets, and other items. They took him with them and said they would take him back after he was questioned at the police station. Instead of taking him home, they put him in the detention center.
7. [Tianjin] Ms. Qi Xiufen Arrested
Ms. Qi Xiufen was arrested at home by five or six officers from the Lutai Police Station on May 10, 2024. They said someone reported her. They ransacked her home, and seized her Falun Gong books, audio players, and other items. She was released that day. Other practitioners were arrested and taken to the police station the same day.
8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Jianguo Harassed
Mr. Li Jianguo was harassed by Zhengzhuangzi Town Police Station deputy director Zhang Ming and officers around 9:00 a.m. on May 17, 2024. They went to his home and tried to photograph him. He refused to cooperate. Two practitioners were visiting him, and the three of them were taken to the police station, questioned, and then released. The officers seized his printers, printer paper, and Falun Gong printouts.
9. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wei Shiyu Arrested
Ms. Wei Shiyu was arrested at her apartment by officers from the Pengshan Road Police Station on the afternoon of May 10, 2024. Her computer, printers, and other items were confiscated.
10. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Niu Yuge Arrested
Ms. Niu Yuge was arrested by officers from the Yingyang City Domestic Security Division and the Yingyang City Gaoshan Police Station on May 9, 2024.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Ruifeng Detained
Ms. Zhang Ruifeng was arrested by officers from the Ziyoudalu Police Station on April 29, 2024. Her home was ransacked. She was first given 15 days of detention. When she finished the term on May 13, it was extended to May 15. Her family was not allowed to see her.
12. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Practitioners Harassed and Arrested
Mr. Sun Liwen and his wife Ms. Zhang Guixia from the Hongshan District, Mr. Yan Qingzhong and his wife Ms. Hu Xiuli from the Yuanbaoshan District, and Fu, first name unknown, from Chaoyang City, who came to Yuanbaoshan on an errand, were arrested and put into a detention center on May 11, 2024.
Ms. Hao Ping and her husband Mr. Liu Fu’an of Qujiagou were harassed at home by police and community clerks. They threatened the couple, “Don’t go anywhere. We are carrying out a special action.”
13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Numerous Practitioners Arrested and Detained
Yun Qingbin, Wang Xiaohui, Liu Yanzhen, Yin Jun, Shen Xishan, Zhou Liansheng, Liu Wentao, Zhang Jie, and Yang Zhanjiu were arrested by officers from the Heshun Street Police Station on May 10, 2024. Liu Yanzhen, Yin Jun, Shen Xishan, and Zhou Liansheng were released that day. Liu Wentao, Zhang Jie, and Yang Zhanjiu were detained for three days. Yun Qingbin was detained for seven days. Wang Xiaohui is still being held in Changchun City Detention Center.
From Liu Wento’s, Zhang Jie’s, and Yang Zhanjiu’s apartments, the police seized a desktop computer, a TV, a satellite dish, three notebook computers, a tablet, three cell phones, a pair of lotus lights, an incense burner, a meditation mat, a pair of earbuds, an MP3, and a portable WiFi hotspot.
14. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guifen Detained
Ms. Li Guifen of Xingxingtun, Yi County was arrested by officers from the Dayubao Police Station on May 13, 2024, for distributing Falun Gong flyers in the Dayubao Street Market. She is being held in criminal detention.
15. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Meng Yueqiu Detained
Ms. Meng Yueqiu, in her 80s, lives in Zhanqi Village, Tangchang Town, Pidu District. She talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Dujiangyan City on May 3, 2024. Someone reported her and she was arrested. Three people, who did not identify themselves, took her to her home around 1:00 a.m., ransacked the place, and seized two copies of Falun Gong books. They told her if she signed a document she wouldn’t be imprisoned. She did not comply and was sent to the Anqing Detention Center. She is still held there.
16. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Lin Detained
Ms. Liu Lin of Nong’an County works in Changchun City. She was arrested on April 20, 2024, and is being held in a detention center in Changchun City.
