(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners celebrated World Falun Dafa Day in King George Square in the heart of Brisbane, Australia, with joyful and festive singing and dancing on May 12, 2024.

Falun Gong practitioners brought colorful performances to their event, including a dragon dance, the waist drum team, an elegant fan dance, a peaceful Falun Gong exercise display, and instrumental performances.

Practitioners exhibited a number of truth-clarification panels in the center of the square. Many passersby came to talk to practitioners and signed a petition to support ending the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Australian dignitaries sent congratulatory letters to congratulate the 25th World Falun Dafa Day. They praised Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as eternal principles and practitioners’ contributions to the community in bringing beauty to many people.

In his letter, the Hon Scott Buchholz MP Federal Member of Parliament for the electorate of Wright, praised Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as enduring principles. He said that he was honored to offer his support to Queensland’s World Falun Dafa Day celebrations in King George Square.
He said World Falun Dafa Day is an important day to commemorate 32 years since Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public in China, “it is a moment to reflect on the enduring principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance that form the cornerstone of this ancient practice.”
He praised Falun Dafa for embodying the essence of traditional Chinese culture and providing a path to holistic health through peaceful exercise and observance of moral principles. He said that Falun Dafa practitioners experience improvements in health, vitality, and emotions by cultivating both physically, mentally, and spiritually, resulting in a more fulfilling life.
On behalf of the people of his region, he wished the event every success.

Queensland State Member for Cairns: Supports Falun Gong Practitioners' Efforts to Teach Falun Dafa in the Community

Queensland MP Michael Healy said in his letter that Falun Gong practitioners have been participating in activities on the Esplanade for four years, providing free meditation classes to the public. He said Falun Dafa practitioners follow the three principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and the cultivation of Falun Dafa strengthens the spirit and the wider community.
He said that he was happy to support practitioners’ efforts to improve themselves and the broader community around them.
“I have been told that there are many lovely stories when visitors wander past when the group are practicing. A great many join the free exercises.
“An older couple on their weekly afternoon walks just wanted to sit on the seat behind the group, because they loved the calm energy.
“Another visitor, who came from the hospital after admitting her daughter for an eating disorder, came upon the group and commenced learning the exercises. She felt that this was serendipity at the time when she needed it the most, as she was close to breakdown.
“There are First Nations children who use the BBQ areas who visit and try the exercises,” he wrote.

Martin, an engineer, enjoyed a theatrical performance celebrating World Falun Dafa Day at the event. He took the initiative to find Falun Gong practitioners to communicate with, and said, “The dragon dance performance was very exciting, very imposing, and inspiring!”
Falun Gong practitioners told him about the origin of World Falun Dafa Day and about the persecution of Falun Gong. He listened very carefully.
“There is no doubt that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are the principles for dealing with others, and this will make the world a better place,” Martin said, “We all live on the same planet, have the same blood in our veins, and deserve the same freedom. The CCP’s deprivation of Falun Gong practitioners’ right to freedom of belief is absolutely wrong and anti-human.”
Martin expressed his gratitude and support for Falun Gong and said he will go to the Falun Dafa website to learn more and share the information with his friends.
IT Architect: Falun Gong’s Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is in Line With Universal Values

Mark, an IT Systems Architect and Project Manager, applauded happily as he watched the performance. “Thank Falun Gong practitioners for bringing diverse culture! Our community needs you!” he said.
“The show was so exciting, my children were very happy, they loved the dragon dance and other programs, especially the ones performed by the children,” he said.
When Mark learned that if a group held such a beautiful show in China, they would be persecuted by the CCP. He said, “The CCP is really stupid, so bad! Falun Gong’s truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance conform to universal values and should be respected!”
Mark signed the petition to support Falun Gong’s call for an end to the persecution in China.
