(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Hawaii celebrated the 25th anniversary of May 13 World Falun Dafa Day at Kalakaua Avenue in Honolulu on May 11, 2024.
Kalakaua Avenue is located in the famous Waikiki scenic area. A local street food festival was held on that avenue the same day. The avenue was crowded on both sides with local food stalls, craftsman, and entertainment, including acrobatics, painting, and singing. The festival spanned about half a mile, and attracted tens of thousands of worldwide tourists daily.
Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and distributed Dafa informational brochures. They also used luminous media, such as lighting and televisions to present exhibition boards.
Accompanied by calming music, practitioners demonstrated the easy to learn Falun Dafa exercises, and displayed the serenity and peacefulness of Falun Dafa’s meditation exercise. Their peaceful atmosphere was especially unique and precious given the noisy street, and attracted many people who stopped and watched. People were given information about Falun Dafa. Visitors strongly agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles, and the universal values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and many were very interested in learning the Falun Dafa exercises. Foremost, they could not understand why practitioners in China are being subjected to persecution. Many people signed the petition that calls for an end of the persecution.
Practitioners spread Falun Dafa in the famous Waikiki area of Hawaii, and collected signatures calling for an end to the ongoing persecution in China.
Tourists from around the world stopped to watch. They were given information about Falun Dafa. People signed a petition to support the efforts of calling for an end to the persecution.
Maggie, a tourist from Miami, was attracted by practitioners’ peaceful field, and stopped at the practitioners’ booth. She took a flier that a practitioner passed to her, and when she looked at the picture of a practitioner meditating, she suddenly felt like crying. She said this was so strange. She said that she very much wanted to learn Falun Dafa. She inquired for details about how to learn in her city, and online resources. When she learned that practitioners in China are still being cruelly persecuted, she signed the petition without hesitating to help stop the persecution.
Jody and Bruno, who are also tourists, were very interested in meditation and cultivating the body and mind. They are employed in a related field. Practitioners explained to them in detail the ideas about cultivating body and mind in Falun Dafa, and shared their own stories of cultivation. They agreed very much with what they were told by the practitioners and said that it inspired them a lot. They really wanted to learn Falun Dafa’s five exercises and read the Falun Dafa books. When they found out about the persecution that practitioners in China are being subjected to, they were moved by practitioners’ noble character, formed by following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They also wanted to spread the facts about Falun Dafa and do something to stop the persecution. After getting permission from practitioners, they took photos of the exhibition boards, and of the practitioners doing the exercises. They wanted to display these photos on their websites to let more people know about the persecution being experienced by practitioners in China.
A Chinese woman who lives in Hawaii talked to the practitioners. She immediately wanted to find out how to learn Falun Dafa in Hawaii. She explained that she often needed to go back to China, so it wouldn’t be a good idea to expose her identity, considering the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) dictatorial system. But she knew the facts about Falun Dafa and knows that practitioners are all good people. She agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She said that she had wanted to learn Falun Dafa for a long time.
She also hoped that in the future, overseas Chinese people will not be afraid of the CCP and can have a true freedom.
