(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 3 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun Severely Abused in Prison
3. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Peng Xiaomei Arrested
1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Xiuzhen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Xu Xiuzhen from Yimin Village in Xiazhuang Town was arrested by officers from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station at the order of Xu Jie, head of the Gaomi City 610 Office, and the Gaomi City Domestic Security Division, on November 7, 2023. She was held in the Weifang City Detention Center, and later sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
It was recently reported that the Gaomi City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Procuratorate, the court, and the Domestic Security Division collaborated and re-sentenced Ms. Xu to three years in prison. She was sent to Shandong Women’s Prison.
2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun Severely Abused in Prison
Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun, about 64, from Chuangye Sub-district, Honggang District, was sentenced to eight years in prison. She was taken to Harbin Women’s Prison on April 20, 2023. She was severely abused in the No. 8 Division of Heilongjiang Women’s Prison.
Ms. Cheng insisted on studying the Fa (teachings) and doing the Falun Gong exercises. Prison authorities escalated the persecution. She has been locked up in a small cell for an extended period of time, and her family members are not allowed to visit her.
3. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Peng Xiaomei Arrested
Ms. Peng Xiaomei was arrested at her home on April 11, 2024.
